Experience the spectacular scenery of the Rhine and Moselle on this luxury all-inclusive cruise to the highlights of Holland, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland.

Explore the canal-lined streets and renowned Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam where you join Crystal Bach, then sail to the medieval city of Antwerp in Belgium, home to ornate buildings, gabled guild houses and cobble squares. From the Dutch town of Nijmegen there is the chance to taste wine at a family winery, visit the Kroller-Muller Museum or explore the haunting National Liberation Museum.

See the celebrated cathedral in Germany's city of Cologne and tour the ancient city of Koblenz before cruising to Rudesheim for an evening of classical music and the opportunity to enjoy breath-taking views of the Rhine Valley from Rüdesheim's iconic Niederwald Monument or visit the famous Mechanical Music Museum. Walk around the Old Towns of Mainz and Speyer and travel to Strasbourg with its magnificent cathedral and colourful half-timbered buildings. Finally reach Switzerland, mooring in Basel and visit the romantic Black Forest or cruise on the pristine lake in the picturesque town of Lucerne.

Rhine Jewels Itinerary

Day 1 - Amsterdam (Holland)

Embark Crystal Bach in Amsterdam.

Day 2 - Amsterdam

Explore Amsterdam’s picturesque canals, ornate churches and 16th-century merchant houses on a canal boat tour and visit the magnificent Rijksmuseum, home to over 8000 works of art by famous artists including Vermeer and Van Gogh. Alternatively, cycle through the enchanting scenery of the Waterland District, see the authentic windmill village of Zaanse Schans or enjoy a walking tour of the city followed by a wine and cheese tasting at the Old Amsterdam Cheese Store.

Day 3 - Antwerp (Belgium)

Explore Antwerp's charming medieval streets and cobbled main square lined with tall gabled houses on a guided walking tour with a visit to the Rubens House, or explore the city on a guided bike tour. Further afield, there is an excursion to the well-preserved Breendonk Prison Camp, a trip to De Koninck brewery or a full day tour of Brussels and Antwerp.

Day 4 - Nijmegen (Holland)

Sail along the Rhine and dock in Nijmegen this afternoon. Join a museum art director or historian for a tour of the Kroller-Muller Museum with its huge collection of works by Van Gogh, visit the fascinating National Liberation Museum or explore the prestigious De Colonjes winery with the chance to sample four wines. The more active may choose instead to join a guided tour of the city by eBike.

Day 5 - Cologne (Germany)

Cruise to Cologne, home to the magnificent Gothic Cathedral which took 600 years to build and has the most intricate stained glass in Europe. See the cathedral on a guided city tour or visit two local breweries for a real taste of Kolsch. Alternatively, join the excursion to Bonn for a guided walking tour of Beethoven's birthplace or explore the masterpieces at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum.

Day 6 - Cochem

Cruise the Moselle river past picture-postcard villages and timber-framed houses to Cochem. Enjoy a medieval-themed visit to enchanting Reichsburg Castle or sample wine on a tour of Schlagkamp Winery hosted by the owner. The more adventurous can instead trek through the forest and cross the Geierlay Bridge which is the longest rope suspension bridge in Germany, or or join the guided eBike ride along the river to the lovely town of Beilstein.

Day 7 - Koblenz - Rudesheim

Visit 2000 year-old Koblenz and enjoy a guided walk through the historic centre with its delightful squares, restored houses and hidden alleyways, followed by a fascinating handmade jewellery workshop, or discover the city's Jewish history and culture on a visit to the Jewish Quarter. Alternatively there is an eBike adventure to the wine-producing town of Winningen featuring a round of mountain golf and a wine tasting; take a cable car ride to the impressive Ehrenbreitsein Fortress; or explore the 13th-century Marksburg Castle. Tonight there is an evening of classical music at Kurhaus Wiesbaden.

Day 8 - Rudesheim - Mainz

In Rudesheim learn about the fascinating history of mechanical musical instruments at a Siegfried's Mechanical Music Museum or travel by cable car to the iconic Niederwald Monument for stunning views over the Rhine Valley. Oenophiles will enjoy the tour of the Trenz winery with wine tasting, or the trip to Eberbach Monastery to sample the monastery's own vineyards, followed by a choral chant in its basilica. Later, join the guided city tour of Mainz with a visit to St Stephen's Church for an exclusive organ recital.

Day 9 - Speyer

Discover Speyer's winding alleys and ornate architecture on a guided walking tour followed by a sampling of pretzels, Speyer's traditional snack, or learn about Speyer's rich Jewish history and culture on a walking tour of the city's significant monuments and institutions. From Speyer there is the option to enjoy a half or full-day excursion to the beautiful city of Heidelberg for a tour of the magnificent Heidelberg Castle.

Day 10 - Kehl

From Kehl travel to Strasbourg, capital of Alsace, for a choice of three excursions. Sample foie gras at the restaurant La Table d’Edouard and taste wine at the historic cellar of Hospices de Strasbourg; visit the famous Cathédrale Notre-Dame for an exclusive organ recital; or join the guided walk of Strasbourg followed by memorable cruise along its canals.

Day 11 - Breisach

Explore the cobbled streets of Breisach and visit the romanesque St Stephan's Cathedral, travel to Freiburg for a soapstone and alabaster workshop where you will create a piece of your own or discover life in the Black Forest at the Vogtsbauernhof outdoor museum with a demonstration of how to prepare the iconic Black Forest cake.

Day 12 - Basel (Switzerland)

Discover Basel's impressive monuments and striking architecture on a guided walking tour, or venture into Germany's Black Forest for a guided nature walk and a visit to a local country inn for a sample of the region's cuisine.

Day 13 - Basel

Today there is the choice between a visit to the Vitra Design Museum and the Beyeler Foundation to see iconic design and art, or an excursion to the delightful city of Lucerne in Switzerland, surrounded by scenic mountain peaks, for a lake cruise and guided city tour.

Day 14 - Cruising the River Rhine

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day cruising the River Rhine past fairytale castles, terraced vineyards and medieval towns.

Day 15 - Frankfurt (Germany)

Disembark Crystal Bach in Frankfurt.
