Legendary Rhine and Moselle Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Amsterdam

Fly from the UK to Amsterdam. Meet your representative on arrival and transfer to the port. (D)

Day 2 - Amsterdam (The Netherlands)

This morning explore the highlights of Amsterdam by canal cruise before choosing to either visit the Van Gogh Museum which is home to the largest collection of his paintings in the world, or visit the Rijksmuseum which has Dutch and Flemish art. Captain's Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Cologne (Germany)

Take a guided walking tour of Cologne's Old Town with a visit to the iconic Cathedral. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Koblenz

Stroll through Koblenz's Old Town and discover the town's history and religion on a guided walking tour. Alternatively visit the village of Alken for a 'Go Active' guided hike up to the dramatic Thurant Castle. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Cochem

Enjoy a guided tour of Reichsburg Castle. Or perhaps enjoy a guided hike up the steepest vineyard in Europe for breathtaking views. Later travel to Ediger-Eller where the town mayor will host your visit and guide you through the cobblestone streets to the church for an organ recital before you join him for wine tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Trier (Luxembourg)

Following a morning's scenic cruising, visit the independent sovereign state of Luxembourg, seeing the WWII Cemetery where US Army General George Patton is buried. Alternatively there is a trip to Mettlach’s Benedictine Abbey, where Villeroy & Boch has produced their exquisite porcelain for over 200 years. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Trier

Explore Trier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is home to many monuments from the Roman Times including the Imperial Baths and the Porta Nigra, before sailing the Moselle through the Riesling wine-growing region. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Bernkastel (Germany)

Bernkastel has more than 500 years of winemaking history. Sample the region's Riesling wines at a renowned wine estate of Dr Pauly-Bergweiler or take a'Go Active' bike ride along the banks of the Moselle. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Boppard - Rudesheim

Stroll through Boppard on a guided tour before cruising the Upper Middle Rhine to Rudesheim. Visit Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum which showcases a collection of self-playing musical instruments. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Speyer

Take a tour of the Old Town to the grand Speyer Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site or discover a unique aperitif on an exclusive vinegar estate visit and tasting - wine vinegars made from grapes grown in the lands of the Palatine. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Strasbourg (France)

See the highlights the Petite France district of Strasbourg on a canal cruise past the half-timbered houses. Alternatively walk through the Old Town stopping for coffee and pastries.

Day 12 - Breisach (Germany)

From Breisach, visit Colmar for a guided tour taking in the medieval city centre and pink-stone church. Alternatively visit the wine villages of Kaysersberg and Riquewihr. Enjoy the Captain's Farewell Dinner and Gala Dinner this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 13 - Basel (Switzerland) - UK

Disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
