Castles along the Rhine Itinerary
Day 1 - UK - Amsterdam (Holland)
Fly to Amsterdam and transfer to the port to embark your ship.
Day 2 - Cologne (Germany)
Enjoy a walking tour of Cologne. Stroll along the streets of the Old Town and discover the magnificent cathedral, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important gothic churches in Europe. On Generations departures, there is a Gothic Cathedrals, Gargoyles and Chocolate tour. Captain's Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner this evening. Note: On Sundays and Catholic holidays, guided tours in the cathedral will not be possible.
Day 3 - Koblenz
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Koblenz with its narrow streets and the 12th century churches of St Florin and Our Lady, or tour Marksburg Castle. There is the opportunity to admire the scenery between Boppard and Koblenz on a bike ride, and enjoy a stroll around the village of Boppard. Also, on Generations program departures, there is a Scavenger Hunt in Koblenz and a Medieval Marksburg tour.
Day 4 - Rudesheim
Enjoy a private tour and wine tasting at the 14th-century Castle Vollards, or enjoy explore Rüdesheim and the impressive Niederwald monument. On Generations program departures, there is a hike followed by a visit to Rheinstein Castle. There is also a cable car ride to Niederwald Heights.
Day 5 - Speyer
Your guided tour through Speyer reveals a medieval town with a grand heritage and a compact historic centre. During the tour you will view the largest Romanesque cathedral in Europe. Alternatively visit Doktorenhof vinegar estate to try the unique aperitifs made from wine vinegars. On Generations program departures, there is an adventure at Speyer's Climbing Forest and a visit to the Technic Museum.
Day 6 - Strasbourg
Explore Strasbourg on a walking tour taking in the Old Town, or opt for the 'Do as the Locals Do' walking tour. On Generations departures, there is a canals, cobblestones and cathedrals tour.
Day 7 - Breisach
Breisach is your gateway to the Alsatian wine road and your launching point for an excursion along the celebrated Route des Vins, which hugs the foothills of the Vosges mountain range, or a city tour of Freiburg. On Generations program departures, there is an Alsatian villages tour. This evening, enjoy a Captain's Farewell and Gala Dinner.
Day 8 - Basel (Switzerland) - UK
Disembark in Basel and transfer to the airport.
For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary. This cruise runs in reverse on alternate weeks.
