Jewels of Europe Itinerary
Day 1 - UK - Amsterdam (Holland)
Fly from a choice of regional airports. A representative will transfer you to your luxury ship. Tonight enjoy a welcome reception. (D)
Day 2 - Amsterdam
Hop aboard one of our e-bikes and take a guided bicycle tour outside the city, or join a flavours of Holland walking tour and taste some Dutch favourites such as herring, cheese and poffertjes. Alternatively, take the opportunity to experience an iconic canal cruise and see the city from a different angle, or step outside of Amsterdam and visit the villages of Alkmaar & Schermerhorn, home to authentic windmills dating back to the 16th century. Day 3 - Cologne - Marksburg
Stroll through Cologne to see the Gothic cathedral, explore the city's Jewish history on a guided tour or perhaps enjoy a cycle ride. Scenic Enrich experience - enjoy a feast at Marksburg Castle accompanied by local red wine. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Rudesheim
Cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, with its stunning vistas of castles perched above steep vine-covered slopes. We arrive at Rudesheim and board the 'Winzerexpress' mini-train for an included guided visit of Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum before taking a cable car to the Niederwald Monument. Day 5 - Miltenberg
Meet the monks in a local monastery for a tour and insight into regional beer production or meet a local winemaker and join him for a taste of his fine wines. Alternatively, join a Baron and Baroness and learn what it is like to be an aristocrat in the modern day, or opt to visit a local farming family and taste some of their home made produce, or you can enjoy a visit to a local producer for a Schnapps tasting. Day 6 - Wurzburg
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Wurzburg including the Residenz Palace or explore the picturesque Romantic Road, once an important trade route, before travelling to the beautiful walled town of Rothenburg, which overlooks the River Tauber. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Bamberg
Relax onboard as you cruise to World Heritage-listed Bamberg. Discover the highlights of the city during a guided city tour. During time at leisure you might like to savour the traditional smoked beer of the region. (B,L,D)
Day 8 - Nuremberg
Choose one of the three included activities: see the infamous WWII sites or join a guided walking tour.(B,L,D)
Day 9 - Regensburg
Explore the unique town of Regensburg, one of the finest preserved cities in Germany. Enjoy a walking tour of Regensburg or hop on board a local ferry and cruise the Danube Gorge to Weltenburg Abbey and sample the famous beer. Alternatively, cycle to the Walhalla monument or head to the Thurn and Taxis Palace. (B,L,D)
Day 10 - Passau (Austria) - Salzburg
Discover the beautiful Baroque city of Passau, lying on the corner of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. Travel to Salzburg for a Scenic Enrich experience. Enjoy an exclusive production of The Sound of Music performed in the rolling hills of Salzburg. (B,L,D)
Day 11 - Melk - Durnstein
Experience Melk’s magnificent 18th century Benedictine Abbey on a guided tour, or if you are feeling more active, embark on an enjoyable guided bike ride along the river from Melk to Dürnstein, one of the most enchanting villages in the region. Alternatively, visit the fairytale castle of Burg Aggstein. Built in the 12th century, the castle ruins offers spectacular views across the Danube. (B,L,D)
Day 12 - Vienna
Enjoy an included tour of the famous sights including the Ringstrasse. This afternoon explore Vienna at your own leisure. In the evening, enjoy a glass of Austrian Sekt at the majestic Palais Liechtenstein followed by an enchanting private Viennese concert. (B,L,D)
Day 13 - Vienna
Today choose one of the following included excursions: take a guided tour of Schonbrunn Palace or visit the Slovakian capital of Bratislava. Alternatively, discover Viennese coffee culture during a guided tour or join a guided bike ride. (B,L,D)
Day 14 - Budapest (Hungary)
Cruise to Budapest and learn about the history and culture of this fantastic city. Discover the highlights of Budapest on a guided tour, relax in the Thermal Baths and Spa, explore the labyrinths of Hospital in the Rock - Nucleur Bunker Museum or hike to Buda Hill for stunning views over the Danube. Day 15 - Budapest - UK
Disembark and transfer to Budapest airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
