Day 1 - Budapest (Hungary)
Transfer from the airport and board your ship in the heart of Budapest. This evening, meet your Cruise Director before dinner then set off on a spectacular twilight cruise. (D)
Day 2 - Budapest
Today, enjoy views of Budapest, one of the Danube’s most enchanting riverside cities. Get to know the city through the expert eyes of your local guide as you see Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square, Buda Castle, the Houses of Parliament and much more. Learn all about the city’s colourful history as you discover its undeniable charm and beauty. This evening, enjoy a delicious Welcome Gala Dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Vienna (Austria)
Enjoy the delights of Vienna on a tailor-made walking and coach tour, offering an insider's view of the city's landmarks. This evening, perhaps enjoy an optional concert featuring music from Mozart to ‘The Sound of Music’. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Vienna
On your second day in Vienna enjoy time at leisure; perhaps discover Schonbrunn Palace or travel to Bratislava, the capital of nearby Slovakia (both at own expense). (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Durnstein – Melk
Cruise to the quaint town of Durnstein where you can walk over cobblestone streets, past 16th-century town houses and taverns. The town is dominated by the hilltop ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned in 1192. Later, dock in Melk and join a local guide for a tour of the magnificent Melk Abbey. Day 6 - Passau (Germany)
Enjoy a fascinating walking tour of Passau. Then perhaps visit Salzburg for 'The Sound of Music' tour or explore Cesky Krumlov which is home to over 300 historic buildings (both at extra cost). Enjoy a special Bavarian experience accompanied by traditional folk music and dance. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Regensburg
Continue along the Danube to the medieval town of Regensburg. Here, a guided tour tells of the city's journey through the ages. Sights include the Old Town Hall, World Heritage-listed city centre and Porta Pretoria. (B,L,D)
Day 8 - Nuremberg
Cruise along the Main-Danube Canal and arrive in Nuremberg. A pivotal city for the Nazi Party, Nuremberg was systematically bombed by the British and US air forces during World War II. Take a tour that reveals the city's most significant and poignant sites, including the Palace of Justice as well as the 900-year-old ramparts that surround the city. (B,L,D)
Day 9 - Bamberg
World Heritage-listed Bamberg beckons this morning. One of the few cities to escape the bombing of World War II, you'll gain local insight into this beautiful and historic city during a guided tour. (B,L,D)
Day 10 - Wurzburg
Today, visit the gardens of the Wurzburg's Residential Palace and discover local churches whose styles range from Baroque, Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance to Modern. Alternatively travel along the Romantic Road for a fascinating tour of Rothenburg (extra cost). (B,L,D)
Day 11 - Miltenberg
Arrive in beautiful Miltenburg and sample local delicacies as you are welcomed into a villager's home for coffee and cake. (B,L,D)
Day 12 - Rudesheim
In Rudesheim, the Winzerexpress mini-train will whisk you away to Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Cruise along the unforgettable Rhine Gorge, considered by many to be the most beautiful part of the River Rhine. (B,L,D)
Day 13 - Cologne - Bruhl
Cruise to Cologne then travel to Bruhl for a tour of the 18th-century Augustusburg Castle and its landscaped gardens, before travelling back to Cologne for time at leisure to explore this enchanting city. (B,L,D)
Day 14 - Amsterdam (Holland)
Dock in Amsterdam and board a glass-top boat to see the city's impressive waterside facades. On the reverse itinerary you will then travel by coach to Utrecht. Enjoy a special Captain's Farewell Dinner tonight. (B,L,D)
Day 15 - Amsterdam
After breakfast, bid Amsterdam goodbye and transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK. (B)
