Enjoy a 2-night stay in Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, before boarding your authentic paddlewheeler. Learn about the role that Vicksburg played in the American Civil War during a guided walk through the National Military Park, and enjoy a visit to Longwood, a unique octagonal house which was never completed as work stopped when the Civil War began. Continue to pretty St Francisville for a tour of the spectacular Rosedown Plantation followed by cold refreshments on the front porch.

Explore the lively capital of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, before heading to the famous Oak Alley Plantation. The perfectly aligned 300-year-old trees form a canopy which makes for a particularly grand entrance. The final stop on this incredible voyage is New Orleans, known as the 'Big Easy', where you there is a two-night stay.

Lower Mississippi Itinerary

Days 1-2 - UK - Memphis (Tennessee)

Fly from London to Memphis and transfer to your hotel in Graceland for a 2-night stay.

Day 3 - Memphis

Embark your ship in Memphis, home to Blues and once the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.

Day 4 - Scenic cruising

Enjoy a day of scenic cruising from Memphis to Vicksburg.

Day 5 - Vicksburg (Mississippi)

Vicksburg played a pivotal role during the American Civil War. Enjoy a complimentary walk through the National Military Park accompanied by a historian, taking in the restored ironclad gunboat, U.S.S Cairo, and the battlefield where the Seige of Vicksburg took place. On Memphis to New Orleans departures, there is an optional excursion to an authentic antebellum mansion where you'll be treated to a tour and southern-inspired refreshments, as well as an optional walking tour of Vicksburg.

Day 6 - Natchez

Experience true southern hospitality during your time in Natchez. It has retained its antebellum charm since its surrender during the Civil War. There is a complimentary excursion to Longwood, one of the elegant houses which graces the historic district of Natchez. This octagonal house epitomises the rise and fall of the south. Workmen stopped work when the Civil War broke out so the house was never completed. There is also a complimentary shuttle into downtown Natchez so you can explore independently. Today's optional excursions are a visit to Frogmore Plantation, and a tour of Joseph Stone's house followed by a classical piano concert.

Day 7 - St Francisville (Louisiana)

St Francisville has been named as one of the most beautiful towns in America. Enjoy a complimentary tour of the Rosedown Plantation with resident expert Tammie Miller. After the tour there is the chance to enjoy cold refreshments on the front porch.

Day 8 - Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge is the lively capital of Louisiana. You will be welcomed with colourful Mardi Gras beads and enjoy a complimentary guided tour, the first stop being the Louisiana Old State Capital for an interactive film. Continue to the Louisiana State Museum which has three floors detailing every region of Louisiana. An optional tour takes in USS Kidd, known as the 'Pirate of the Pacific', a Fletcher-class destroyer which is a memorial to the men and women who served in the American armed forces.

Day 9 - Oak Alley

Oak Alley Plantation is named after its 300-year-old oak trees. Your complimentary tour visits the plantation which has a particularly grand entrance due to its perfectly aligned trees forming a canopy. See the beautiful state rooms and discover why it has been named the 'Grande Dame of the Great River Road'. After the tour, sip mint juleps on the west lawn.

Days 10-11 - New Orleans

Disembark your ship in New Orleans and transfer to the Intercontinental hotel for a 2-night stay.

Day 12 - New Orleans - UK

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to London.
