Day 1 - UK - Delhi (India)

Fly from London Heathrow to Delhi.

Day 2 - Delhi

The city bridges two different worlds, Old Delhi with its narrow lanes with private mansions and mosques and New Delhi created by the British Raj with its tree-lined avenues and magnificent buildings. Upon arrival, transfer to the Hyatt Regency Hotel for your two-night stay and enjoy a Welcome Reception tonight. (D)

Day 3 - Delhi

Enjoy a guided tour of Delhi, including a visit to Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, then take a guided rickshaw ride through historic Old Delhi and see the magnificent Red Fort. (B,L)

Day 4 - Agra

Visit India Gate, a memorial for Indian soldiers who died in WW1. Head to Agra via Humayun's Tomb. Two night stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. (B)

Day 5 - Agra

Visit Agra Fort and then enjoy a guided tour of the stunning Taj Mahal. Tonight enjoy a special dinner at Anise by Courtyard Marriott. (B,D)

Day 6 - Agra - Fatehpur - Jaipur

Travel to Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted medieval city, and enjoy lunch at Laxmi Vilas Palace before continuing to Jaipur, known as the Pink City. Two-night stay at Jaipur Marriott Hotel. (B,L)

Day 7 - Jaipur

This morning, head out for a day of sightseeing. See the sights of Jaipur before travelling to the towering Amber Fort by Jeep. Enjoy a traditional Rajasthani cooking class followed by a delicious lunch. Explore Hawa Mahal then discover Jaipur's City Palace. (B,L)

Day 8 - Jaipur - Kolkata

Transfer to the airport for your included flight to Kolkata. Overnight at the Taj Bengal Hotel, Kolkata. (B,D)

Day 9 - Kolkata - Farakka

Travel by train from Kolkata to Farakka to embark the Rajmahal for your Lower Ganges cruise. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Jangipur or Gaur

Spend the afternoon at leisure in Jangipur or perhaps enjoy a full day excursion by road to Gaur. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Baranagar - Murshidabad

See the miniature terracotta temples in Baranagar then continue to Murshidabad. Moor and visit the Khushbagh, a Moghul-style garden, Katra Mosque, Nashipara Palace and Kathgola Palace. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Murshidabad - Katwa

On the Murshidabad waterfront, explore Nawab's Hazarduari Palace with its collection of art, china and weapons. (B,L,D)

Day 13 - Matiari - Mayapur

Explore the brass-working village of Matiari before continuing to Mayapur, a place of special sacred significance for Hindus. See the new ISKCON temple which dominates the skyline. (B,L,D)

Day 14 - Kalna

Head to the town of Kalna, named for the Hindu goddess Kali. Enjoy a cycle rickshaw to some of Bengal's most spectacular temples. Continue to the Imambara Muslim shrine. (B,L,D)

Day 15 - Chandannagar - Barrackpore

Cruise to Chandannagar to see the 18th-century church and Dupleix's House before continuing to Barrackpore, home to the Semaphore Tower, Government House and Flagstaff House. (B,L,D)

Day 16 - Kolkata

Disembark Rajmahal in Kolkata. Visit the bustling Flower Market before heading to home of the late Mother Teresa. Stay overnight at the Taj Bengal Hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 17 - Kolkata - UK

Enjoy time at leisure to explore Kolkata, then after dinner transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B,D)

Day 18 - UK
