Day 1 - UK - Passau (Germany)
Fly from the UK and embark ship in Passau.
Day 2 - Regensburg
This morning, join the optional walking tour of Regensburg, one of Germany's best-preserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its stunning architecture. This afternoon there is the opportunity to visit the brewery at Thurn and Taxis Castle, including a beer tasting. Or take the optional visit to Weltenburg abbey. Enjoy an authentic Bavarian evening on board.
Day 3 - Nuremberg
Explore the architecture of Nuremberg with an optional city tour followed by a visit to the romantic Old Town. See the Palace of Justice, walk through the narrow walkways at the foot of the castle and stroll through the market to try some local delicacies. Perhaps take the option to learn more about World War II and the Nazi past at the Documentation Center of Nuremberg.
Day 4 - Bamberg
This morning take the optional tour of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bamberg; highlights include the New Residence, the unique Town Hall built on a bridge and the Imperial Cathedral. Afterwards there is an on-board talk about the importance of the Main-Danube Canal.
Day 5 - Ochsenfurt - Wurzburg
Ochsenfurt, nestled on the banks of the Main, is a picturesque little town with romantic, half-timbered houses and ancient ramparts. Join the optional excursion to medieval Rothenburg for a town walk with a local guide. At lunchtime arrive in Wurzburg, located in the heart of the Franconian wine region and known for its lavish Baroque and Rococo architecture. An optional guided walking tour includes a visit to the Wurzburg Residence and a tour of an ancient wine cellar followed by a wine tasting. Alternatively, you can visit the Marienberg Fortress.
Day 6 - Wertheim - Miltenberg
Perhaps join the excursion to medieval Wertheim, for a walking tour, and Miltenberg with its timber-framed houses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
Day 7 - Oberwesel - Koblenz
Today there is an optional guided walking tour of Oberwesel, the City of Towers. Cruise along the beautiful Upper Middle Rhine Valley and catch a glimpse of the statue of the mythical Lorelei. This afternoon there is an optional walking tour of Koblenz to uncover the town's 2,000 year history. Captain's Gala dinner tonight.
Day 8 - Koblenz - Cochem
Sail through the Moselle Valley towards Cochem where a guided walking tour reveals the town's highlights including Reichsburg Castle with its impressive views. Alternatively, visit a local winery and taste the famous Moselle wines, before returning to your ship.
Day 9 - Trier
Disembark ship in Trier and transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
