Venture deep into the heart of Eastern Europe on this exciting voyage along the Danube towards the Black Sea, taking in the intriguing cities of Osijek and Belgrade and the famous Iron Gates, with the opportunity to visit the UNESCO-listed Danube Delta.

Join your ship in the Hungarian capital of Budapest and cruise to the beautiful Croatian city of Osijek, home to the impressive St Peter's and St Paul's Basilica and a mighty 18th-century fortress. Continue to Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia, and on to Belgrade, the country's fascinating capital. Optional tours showcase the city's main sights, including the National Theatre, Royal Palace and the Orthodox Temple of St Sava.

Admire breathtaking scenery as you navigate the stunning Iron Gates, a gorge separating Serbia and Romania. Enjoy lunch in Veliko Tarnovo overlooking the impressive fortress ruins, before exploring Arbanassi, renowned for its monuments. Take the opportunity to discover the Renaissance architecture of Ruse and incredible monuments of Bucharest.

Founded in 600 BC, Constanta is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Romania and offers a mix of architectural styles, evident in the Orthodox cathedral and Grand Mosque. Continue to Crisan, your gateway to the UNESCO-listed Danube Delta, home to an abundance of wildlife.

BUE_PP: Eastern Europe Discovery Itinerary

Day 1 - Budapest (Hungary)

Board your ship in Budapest and enjoy a welcome cocktail. Tonight, have your first dinner on board and set sail towards Mohacs.

Day 2 - Mohacs - Osijek (Croatia)

Perhaps join an aerobics class and onboard entertainment, before arriving in Osijek. This afternoon, there are two optional excursions. The first is a guided city tour taking in St Peter's and St Paul's Basilica, the old city with its 18th-century fortress, and the Holy Trinity Statue. Alternatively, explore Osijek by bike. Later, rejoin the ship and cruise to Novi Sad, whilst enjoying an evening of entertainment on board.

Day 3 - Novi Sad - Belgrade (Serbia)

Take the opportunity to see the sights of Novi Sad on an optional guided tour, followed by a drive to Sremski Karlovci. Later, the ship will cruise to Belgrade where there are two optional excursions. Take the city tour of Belgrade or explore by bike. Rejoin the ship for an evening on dancing on board.

Day 4 - Iron Gates

Spend the day cruising the River Danube, passing the dramatic Iron Gates, a gorge separating Serbia and Romania. Cruise through the night.

Day 5 - Ruse (Bulgaria)

Early morning arrival in Ruse. Spend the day exploring. Visit Veliko Tarnovo on an optional excursion, the historical capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire before heading to Arbanassi which is renowned for its incredible monuments.

Day 6 - Ruse - Oltenita (Romania)

This morning there is an optional excursion showcasing Ruse's large squares, wide avenues and impressive monuments which bear testament to Renaissance architecture. Later, rejoin the ship and cruise to Giurgiu, from where you can take the optional tour of Bucharest which includes a visit to the Village Museum where you can learn about traditional village life. Afterwards, the ship cruises to Cernavoda/Fetesti. Gala dinner and evening on board. Cruise through the night.

Day 7 - Cernavoda/Fetesti - Sulina

Arrive in Cernavoda/Fetesti and perhaps join the optional full-day tour to Constanta, the oldest continuously inhabited city in Romania. Discover a fascinating mix of architectural styles, most evident in the magnificent Orthodox cathedral and opulent Grand Mosque. Lunch is in a local restaurant. Later, rejoin the ship and cruise to Murfatlar, where some of Romania's best wines are produced. There is a tasting in a wine cellar. Back on board, there is an evening of entertainment.

Day 8 - Sulina - Crisan - Tulcea

Arrive in Sulina, located at the mouth of the River Danube, before continuing to Crisan. Today's optional excursions visit the UNESCO-listed Danube Delta where the Black Sea meets the Danube. It is home to a variety of wildlife. Back on board, the ship cruises to Tulcea. This evening, enjoy dinner and traditional Romanian entertainment.

Day 9 - Tulcea

After breakfast, disembark the ship.

The Captain reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
