Explore six magnificent countries, discover outstanding natural beauty, and see the famous Iron Gates on this cruise along the Danube to the Black Sea.

Take the opportunity to visit Melk Abbey, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube, and perhaps experience a traditional Viennese concert, before heading to the Slovakian capital of Bratislava with its spectacular Baroque palaces and ornate churches. Continue to the Hungarian capital of Budapest, which straddles the Danube, and Kalocsa, gateway to the Puszta where horse shows are extremely popular.

Picturesque Novi Sad is overlooked by the mighty Petrovaradin Fortress, while the Serbian capital of Belgrade is home to the lively Terazije Square, considered the heart of the city. Admire dramatic scenery as you cruise the breathtaking Iron Gates to Ruse, from where it is possible to tour the Rock-hewn Churches of Ivanovo. An overnight stop in Tulcea allows ample time to explore the Danube Delta on optional excursions. Discover the abundance of flora and fauna and meander along the multiple natural and artificial canals.

LIT_PP/TUL_PP - Blue Danube to the Black Sea Itinerary

Day 1 - Linz (Austria)

Embark your ship in Linz and settle into your cabin. Meet the crew at a welcome cocktail before dinner. The ship sets sail towards Melk this evening.

Day 2 - Melk - Vienna

Today there is an optional excursion to Melk Abbey, perched high on an outcrop overlooking the River Danube. The ship then cruises to Vienna where there is an optional evening concert (subject to availability).

Day 3 - Vienna - Bratislava (Slovakia)

Enjoy an optional visit to Schonbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Emperor of Austria. Alternatively, experience Viennese living on an optional tour which includes a walk through the city, a back stage visit to the Konzerthaus concert hall (if possible), and a cup of Viennese coffee. The ship then continues to Bratislava where there are two optional excursions - a guided tour of Bratislava and a guided hike which takes in Devin Castle. Set sail towards Budapest.

Day 4 - Budapest (Hungary)

Join the optional sightseeing tour of Budapest which straddles the Danube, or explore by bike on an optional excursion. Spend the afternoon at leisure or enjoy the optional visit to Gellert baths and spa. This evening, there is the opportunity to experience traditional entertainment in Budapest. The ship cruises through the night.

Day 5 - Budapest - Kalocsa - Mohacs - Bezdan (Serbia)

Arrive in Kalocsa, gateway to the Puszta which can be explored on an optional tour. Back on board, cruise towards Mohacs and Novi Sad.

Day 6 - Novi Sad - Belgrade

During your time in Novi Sad, there are two optional excursions to choose from - a guided tour and a hike up to the Petrovaradin fortress. The ship will cruise to Belgrade, where there is an optional evening of traditional entertainment.

Day 7 - Belgrade - Donji Milanovac

Enjoy an optional sightseeing tour of Belgrade, home to the lively Terazije Square, or join the optional biking tour along the streets, learning about the city's past. Spend the afternoon cruising to Donji Milanovac.

Day 8 - Donji Milanovac - Iron Gates

Spend the day cruising the Danube, passing the Iron Gates, a natural boundary between Serbia and Romania. On the Serbian bank, you'll see the Tabula Traiana, a marble plaque honouring the Roman Road. Gala evening and dinner onboard.

Day 9 - Ruse (Bulgaria)

During your time in Ruse, choose from two optional excursions - a tour taking in the Rock-hewn churches of Ivanovo (forward itinerary only) and a guided tour of Ruse. Dinner and traditional entertainment onboard.

Day 10 - Giurgiu (Romania) - Oltenita

The ship cruises to Giurgiu, from where you can join the optional tour of Bucharest, a city with an eclectic mix of architecture. See orthodox churches, the Parliament and Curtea Veche. Return on board in Olenita.

Day 11 - Tulcea

Arrive in Tulcea where there are two optional excursions - a tour of the Danube Delta with its abundant flora and fauna, and a speedboat tour through the Danube Delta.

Day 12 - Tulcea

Enjoy breakfast onboard before disembarking the ship.

The Captain reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary. The reverse itinerary varies slightly
