Bordeaux Wine Region Itinerary
Day 1 - UK - Bordeaux (France)
Fly from a choice of up to 15 regional airports to Bordeaux or alternatively take the Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris Gard du Nord and take the train to Bordeaux. On arrival in Bordeaux, you'll be met by a representative and transferred to the Scenic Diamond. Tonight enjoy a welcome reception. (D)
Day 2 - Bordeaux - Saint Emilion
This morning cruise up the Dordogne River to Libourne. Perhaps join a culinary masterclass on board in Scenic Culinaire before disembarking and spending the afternoon in the World-Heritage listed location of Saint Emilion with a tour including the underground catacombs of the iconic Monolithic Church. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Libourne - Pauillac
Take a guided tour of Libourne to see the 16th century town-houses and gothic church; tour an exclusive estate and sample the Grand Cru Classe wine; or visit the city of Bergerac and a local farm to taste foie gras. Perhaps join a cooking class in Scenic Culinaire as you cruise to Pauillac this afternoon. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Medoc
The Medoc region is renowned for its fine red wines and is home to around 1500 vineyards. Enjoy wine tasting at a local estate or join a bike ride to a local chateau. Tonight enjoy your Scenic Enrich experience which is an unforgettable concert at the 13th-century Chateau Agassac. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Pauillac - Cadillac
Enjoy a full day cruising along the Garonne River. Perhaps brush up your cooking skills with a lesson in Scenic Culinaire or simply watch the stunning scenery peacefully slip by. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - Cadillac
Today you can sample the fine wines in the region of Sauternes, or cycle through the rolling vineyards for a wine tasting at a Grand Cru Class estate. This afternoon choose to tour Roquetaillade Castle, visit a truffle farm, or enjoy a 12km round-trip hike to the village of Loupiac. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Bordeaux
Shop with the onboard chef at a local food market then enjoy a cookery lesson in Scenic Culinaire. Alternatively, join a guided tour of Bordeaux or cycle through historic regions before returning to the ship. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the culture of the Bordelais. (B,L,D)
Day 8 - Arcachon - Bourg
Arcachon is the jewel of France's western coastline. Today you can join a walking tour of Arcachon, climb Europe's largest sand dune or stay in Bordeaux and take a local tram to the Cite du Vin museum. This afternoon stay on board and enjoy a fantastic chocolate and wine pairing event. (B,L,D)
Day 9 - Cognac
See the Carriages Museum in Bourg Castle or spend the day exploring pretty Cognac followed by a tasting at a property of Remy Martin. Later, cruise to Blaye. (B,L,D)
Day 10 - Blaye - Bordeaux
Stroll through charming Blaye, take a more active hike through the town or cycle along the famous Captain's Road. Captain's Farewell Dinner on board tonight. (B,L,D)
Day 11 - Bordeaux - UK
After breakfast, disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK or take the train to Paris and the Eurostar to St Pancras International. (B)
