Pearls of Southern Norway

Day 1 - Amsterdam (Netherlands)

Before embarking on your journey on MS Midnatsol, spend some time in Amsterdam, a city of canals, cafés and culture. Enjoy an abundance of museums and art galleries in the city that was once the home of Rembrandt and Van Gogh.

Day 2 - Helgoland (Germany)

Germany’s only high sea archipelago consists of two small islands called Helgoland and the Dune. Helgoland is famous for its unique scenery, diverse wildlife and incredibly fascinating history. After being founded by Frisians, Helgoland became a pirate base in the Middle Ages before being claimed by the Danes. The British then conquered it and swapped the islands with the Germans for Zanzibar. During WWII, both islands were almost completely wiped out. Discover this unbelievble history as you wander ashore.

Day 3 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities during relaxing days at sea.

Day 4 - Kragerø (Norway)

Charming Kragero boasts a long history of art and culture and is often the inspiration for famous artists. Perhaps visit on the many galleries or enjoy a more adventurous hike.

Day 5 - Farsund

The pretty island of Farsund boasts some of the best beaches in Southern Norway and is great for bird watching or shore side walks. Perhaps take a walk along the old railway line for spectacular views of the fjord, crossing a 100-year old swing bridge and passing a protected oak forest. Farsund has an interesting history as the island once hosted pirates and each summer the people of Farsund celebrate their heritage with a "Kaperdagene" festival which translates to “Pirate days”.

Day 6 - Lysefjorden

Lysefjord is 40 kilometres long and 422 metres deep at its deepest. Preikestolen, a flat mountain plateau of approx 600 square metres towers an impressive 604 metres over the Lysefjord. We hope to have a spectacular view of Preikestolen and the Kjerag peak towering 1,084 meters above the next highest mountain along the Lysefjord.

Day 7 - Rosendal

The small village of Rosendal is known for its baronial manor, now one of the most significant museums and attraction in Western Norway. Located “at the mouth of the Hardangerfjord”, this castle is surrounded by a gorgeous landscape park and is the only manor of its kind in Norway.

Day 7 - Bergen

Disembark MS Midnatsol in Bergen.
