Into the Midnight Sun Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Bergen (Norway)

Fly from the UK and embark your ship in Bergen.

Day 2 - Bergen

Stroll along the waterfront of Bryggen wharf, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or explore the narrow cobblestone lanes of the city's Old Town. An included coach tour takes in the main sights including the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf and the lively fish market, and includes a photo stop at Nordnes. Alternatively, join one of the optional excursions including a cable car up Mt Ulriken and a visit to the Dale Factory, renowned for its sweaters.

Day 3 - Geiranger

Cruise through the spectacular Geirangerfjord to the tiny village of Geiranger via, one of Norway’s most spectacular fjords. For stunning views of this delightful location, join the thrilling drive up to Eagle’s Bend with its 11 hairpin bends. Alternatively, learn about local natural history at the Norwegian Fjord Center, then explore the village's octagonal wooden church.

Day 4 - Molde

Molde is known as the City of Roses for its well-tended flower gardens, and offers panoramic views of the Romsdal Alps. Perhaps visit the fascinating open-air Romsdal Museum to see examples of old Norwegian architecture including log houses and a small chapel. Alternatively, take the optional excursion to Bergtatt, a spectacular working marble and limestone mine, or the hike to the cascading Mardalsfossen Waterfall.

Day 5 - Cruising the Inside Passage

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day cruising the Inside Passage, a beautiful region of coastal Norway.

Day 6 - Tromso

Explore Tromso’s historic centre with its wooden structures and neoclassical buildings on an included tour, with highlights including the striking Arctic Cathedral and the world’s northernmost botanical garden. Optional excursions include a trip to the breathtaking Lyngen Alps for a walk on a glacier and a visit to the world's northernmost brewery.

Day 7 - Honningsvag

From the remote town of Honningsvag travel to the top of North Cape, or Nordkapp, a dramatic rocky plateau 1,000 feet high. Alternatively, enjoy an optional helicopter ride over the North Cape followed by champagne and caviar, or join the king crab safari in the waters of Sarnesfjorden.

Day 8 - Lofoten

Soaring craggy peaks overlook sheltered bays in the stunning Lofoten Islands. Lofoten’s breathtaking nature has inspired and attracted artists for years, with many galleries and museums to explore in the capital, Svolvaer. The included guided tour visits the fishing village of Ballstad and picturesque Haukland Beach.

Day 9 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 10 - Lerwick (Shetland Islands, Scotland)

Admire the rugged beauty of the remote Shetland Islands on an included tour of the main island. Take a panoramic drive through Lerwick and visit the limestone hamlet of Fladdabister, the crofting town of Aithsetter and a 2,000-year-old castle. Alternatively, explore the archaeological site of Jarlshof to find out more about the 4,000 years of human history on this remote archipelago.

Day 11 - Kirkwall (Orkney Islands)

Explore the history of the Orkney Islands on an included Kirkwall walking tour which takes in 17th- and 18th-century houses, the Bishop’s Palace and the magnificent St. Magnus Cathedral. Or perhaps opt to visit the spectacular archaeological site of Skara Brae.

Day 12 - Edinburgh (Scotland)

Travel to Scotland’s graceful capital, Edinburgh, on a tour which includes the National Museum of Scotland and the Royal Mile, the famous avenue which connects Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Perhaps take the opportunity to explore Edinburgh Castle with a visit to the Crown Jewels, or travel to medieval St. Andrews, known as the birthplace of golf.

Day 13 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Days 14-15 - London (Greenwich)

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is home to Maritime Greenwich, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. London is just a short drive away, with highlights including the Tower of London, Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Alternatively visit Windsor Castle or tour Greenwich with its superb National Maritime Museum and Royal Observatory. Disembark ship the following morning.
