Refurbished in 2021, Maud (formerly the Midnatsol) is designed for expedition cruising.
The interior of the ship features natural Scandinavian materials to create a relaxed and stylish atmosphere. On Deck 5 there is a Science Centre with state-of-the-art technology and interactive learning tools.
Sustainability is at the core of Hurtigruten's cruising, and Maud will introduce biodiesel as fuel. Biodiesel reduces CO2 emmissions up to 80%. Single-use plastic will also be banned on MS Maud. The ship is also equipped for shore power, completely eliminating emissions when docked in ports with shore facilites.
Enjoy a culinary journey on MS Maud. Ingredients sourced from local suppliers feature in all three restaurants - Restaurant Aune (the main dining room), Fredheim (casual fast-food and plant-based alternatives) and Lindstrom (fine-dining restaurant).
Each expedition voyage is also accompanied by an expedition team presenting lectures and leading activities.
