Perhaps join the optional excursion which begins in the primitive fishing village of Djiffere and visits the village of Joal Fadiouth which sits on an island of clam shells that are often used in local buildings and crafts. This afternoon, leave the Saloum Delta River and sail to Banjul, the unspoilt capital city of Gambia. Enjoy a Fishermen themed night on board before mooring overnight in Banjul.

Head to the southernmost tip of Baboon Island where a local national park ranger will join us on board to tell us about the park and its fauna & flora. Next, sail slowly along the coast of Baboon Island which is home to the Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Project; from the motor pirogue we will hopefully be able to observe the chimps in their natural habitat with minimal intrusion.
