Explore the coast of Vietnam from Hanoi to Da Nang on 49-passenger Panorama II. Included excursions provide an insight into Vietnamese life and the country's history.

Explore historic Hanoi before joining Panorama II in Halong Bay. Be enchanted by the scenery of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam’s must-see natural wonder of limestone islands. Visit the extraordinary Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, where caves as long as 30 kilometres were only discovered in 2005 before cruising on to Vinh Moc. A guided excursion provides an eye-opening insight into the America-Vietnam war. Visit the underground site where tunnels were developed to shelter local communities and created an underground village; and visit the Khe Sanh Combat Base, where the conflict took place.

From Chan May, visit Hue, the former imperial capital. See the Thien Mu Pagoda which is an active Buddhist monastery dating back to 1601 and enjoy lunch at a local pagoda before cruising to Danang.

Northern Vietnam Coastal Escape Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Hanoi (Vietnam)

Fly from the UK to Hanoi.

Day 2 - Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to to the port to embark Panorama II. This evening, enjoy your a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 3 - Hanoi - Halong Bay

Early risers can see the sights of Hanoi on a walking tour to get a taste of everyday life in Vietnam. Also visit a traditional water puppet theatre where host Liem invites you into his home, a small-scale theatre which has been in his family for generations. This afternoon transfer from Hanoi to Halong to board Panorama II.

Day 4 - Halong Bay

Board a smaller local boat this morning for a cruise around Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage-Listed area with limestone islands. There may also be the chance to take a kayak out on the water.

Day 5 - Halong Bay - Lan Ha Bay

Spend the day taking in the scenery along the Vietnam coast cruising from Halong Bay towards Hon Lang.

Day 6 - Hon La - Phong Nha National Park

Morning arrival in Hon La. Transfer by bus to the unspoiled Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, which spans over 885 square kilometeres and is home to some of Asia's most ancient limestone karst landscapes. Visit the Thien Duong cave which was only discovered in 2005. Cruise overnight to Vinh Moc.

Day 7 - Vinh Moc - Khe Sanh

This morning, visit the Vinh Moc Tunnels, built to shelter the local communities in the Demilatarised Zone that separated North and South Vietnam during the war. Learn about how the tunnels were developed and the families which stayed in the underground village during the late 1960s. Also visit the Khe Sanh Combat Base, where the Vietnam-America conflict took place.

Day 8 - Hue

Dock in Chan May and transfer to Hue, the former imperial capital, for a guided tour. See the Thien Mu Pagoda, an active Buddhist monastery that dates back to 1601 and enjoy a vegetarian lunch. After lunch, visit the elaborate royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc. Later, rejoin Panorama II and cruise towards Danang.

Day 9 - Danang - UK

Disembark Panorama II in Danang and transfer to airport for your return flight to the UK.

Day 10 - UK

Arrive back in the UK.
