Join your brand new ship in the magnificent city of Barcelona and sail to Cartagena for a tour of this ancient Roman city then on to Malaga where there is an optional excursion to the mighty Alhambra Palace in Granada. Cruise the Atlantic Ocean to the wine town of Leixoes where there is the chance to visit Porto for a port wine tasting. Sail along the south coast of England from Falmouth to Portsmouth and uncover fascinating maritime history and dramatic Cornish landscapes.

From Le Havre join the included excursion to the romantic city of Paris for free time to explore the highlights including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, and from Zeebrugge discover scenic Flanders and the coastal village of Knokke. Visit elegant Amsterdam with its famous canals and world-class museums before sailing through the fascinating Kiel Canal to the fairytale city of Copenhagen, home to the famous Little Mermaid statue.

Western Coast of Europe Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Barcelona (Spain)

Fly from the UK and embark Viking Jupiter in Barcelona where there will be time to explore the city at leisure this evening.

Day 2 - Barcelona

See the city's highlights on a tour which takes in the Columbus Monument, Arc de Triomf, and the magnificent neo-Gothic Barcelona Cathedral. Optional excursions are available which include a visit to the impressive Montserrat Abbey, a tour of the Gothic Quarter and a trip to the cultural cities of Girona and Figueres.

Day 3 - Cartagena

See the Old Town of Cartagena and the fascinating Museum of the Roman Theatre on an included city tour. Alternatively, there is the opportunity to explore Cartagena by Segway, venture deep underground on a silver mine tour or discover the Holy City of Caravaca de la Cruz.

Day 4 - Malaga

An included tour of Malaga features the 11th-century Alcazaba Palace, the Moorish Gibralfaro Castle, the Renaissance Cathedral and Picasso’s birthplace. Or, choose to explore the mighty Alhambra Palace in Granada, the spectacular caves of Nerja or the glamorous seaside resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus on optional excursions.

Day 5 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 6 - Leixoes (Porto, Portugal)

See the Clerigos Tower and the neoclassical wonders along Avenida dos Aliados on an included excursion in Porto. Alternatively, take the opportunity to visit Braga and Guimaraes, two of northern Portugal's most historically significant sights, enjoy a port tasting at the wine cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia or take a step back in time on a tram journey to Ribeira and its magnificent church.

Day 7 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 8 - Falmouth (UK)

Falmouth is the gateway to the dramatic landscapes of Cornwall. Enjoy a scenic drive to the Georgian city of Truro then along country lanes through Poldark countryside to Marazion. There is the option to visit the astonishing greenhouses at the Eden Project, admire the Lost Gardens of Heligan or explore the island of St Michael's Mount and its historic castle and abbey.

Day 9 - Portsmouth

Sail between Napoleonic forts in the Solent Strait and past stunning citadels to Portsmouth harbour. Discover the city’s maritime past and see the historic vessels of the Tudor battleship Mary Rose and the HMS Victory, and visit the D-Day Museum. Optional excursions include a trip to mysterious Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral, a visit to the world-famous Bombay Sapphire gin distillery and a panoramic tour of London.

Day 10 - Le Havre (Paris, France)

The historic port city of Le Havre is the gateway to Paris. Enjoy a scenic drive through Normandy’s countryside for time at leisure in the city to ascend the Eiffel Tower or admire the Gothic Notre Dame Cathedral. Alternatively, there is the chance to visit the D-Day beaches, stroll the pretty quay of the artists’ town of Honfleur or enjoy tastings of Camembert cheese and Calvados brandy on a trip through the Normandy countryside.

Day 11 - Zeebrugge (Bruges, Belgium)

From Zeebrugge enjoy a scenic drive through the Flemish countryside to the exclusive beach town of Knokke. Or explore the canals and medieval cobbled streets of Bruges, discover WWI history with visits to Belgium's battle sites, cemeteries and museums, or see the highlights of Ghent, the city of chocolate on optional excursions.

Day 12 - Amsterdam (Holland)

Explore the famous canals of Amsterdam, the elegant city that was born from the Dutch Golden Age, when merchants became rich from the Indonesian spice trade and commissioned great works of art. The included tour explores the city's canalside buildings by glass-topped boat. Alternatively, visit the pottery city of Delft to learn how its beautiful porcelain is produced, experience the Keukenhof Gardens which are a riot of colour in spring, or visit the Anne Frank House and the Jewish Cultural Quarter of Amsterdam.

Day 13 - Transit the Kiel Canal

Spend a relaxing day cruising the Kiel Canal.

Day 14 - Copenhagen (Denmark)

Spend a full day in the Danish capital. On an included walking tour see The Little Mermaid statue, Amalienborg Palace and the 17th-century Kastellet fortress. There is the option to visit Tivoli Gardens, go on a tour to one of the world's best known breweries and discover the fascinating castles of North Zealand.

Day 15 - Copenhagen - UK

Disembark Viking Jupiter in Copenhagen and transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
