Mediterranean Journey Itinerary

Day 1 - Barcelona (Spain)

Embark your ship in Barcelona.

Day 2 - Provence (France)

See the sights and enjoy the views of historic old Marseille and visit the charming fishing port of Cassis. Or venture into the celebrated Provençal countryside with its fields of lavender and sunflowers. Explore lovely Aix or stroll through Avignon and its Papal Palace and the hilltop village of Les Baux.

Day 3 - St Tropez

Beyond the port, perhaps enjoy the exquisite hilly Provençal countryside and its charming villages with their narrow stepped streets, lovely churches and stunning scenic views. Visit a local winery or take a drive along the rugged coast and revel in the wonderful views of the beaches, the landscape, the islands and the magnificent forested ridges of the Massif des Maures.

Day 4 - Monte Carlo (Monaco)

Drive along the famous Grand Corniche with its stunning views of Monaco and the Old City; then stroll through this marvelous quarter and its pink Grimaldi Palace, or explore the wonderful old villages along the Côte d'Azur from Nice to medieval Eze or Cannes, Grasse and lovely St. Paul de Vence - each one a jewel to be savored.

Day 5 - Livorno (Italy)

Livorno is the gateway to Renaissance Florence and Pisa. Admire the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, the UNESCO-listed Square of Miracles and the Romanesque Pisa Cathedral with its spectacular Byzantine-inspired mosaics, or explore the Renaissance treasures of Florence and perhaps visit Michelangelo's David. Alternatively, bask in the sun-drenched villages of Cinque Terre, a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 6 - Civitavecchia

Civitavecchia’s location makes it an ideal base for visiting Rome, Italy's Eternal City, home to magnificent landmarks including the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, St Peter's Basilica and the famous Spanish Steps. Perhaps choose from the optional shore excursions such as a visit to Bracciano Lake with a wine tasting or experience the Terme dei Papi, the “Thermal Baths of the Popes.

Day 7 - Naples

Perhaps spend a day exploring the fabulous ruins of ancient Pompeii or Herculaneum with their stunning temples, frescoes and mosaics. Alternatively, explore fascinating Naples and its famed museums, visit charming Sorrento or take a boat trip to the beautiful Isle of Capri.

Day 8 - At sea

Enjoy the facilities on board during a day at sea.

Day 9 - Dubrovnik (Croatia)

Enjoy a walk through this famous walled medieval city and its exquisite Venetian monuments. See the Franciscan monastery and explore the Rector's palace and the cathedral. Alternatively, enjoy a tuk-tuk ride, a road train wine tour, or a visit to Cavtat.

Day 10 - Kotor (Montenegro)

The beautiful town of Kotor is located in the Gulf of Kotor. The old port is surrounded by a magnificent city wall and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other sights include the impressive cathedral of Saint Tryphon. Perhaps explore the Bay of Kotor by Tuk Tuk or take the opportunity to sail to the glorious Our Lady’s Temple in nearby Prcanj for a classical concert and then return to Kotor for a walking tour.

Day 11 - Koper (Slovenia)

Originally built on an island surrounded by swampland that was later drained, Koper was known as "Goat's Island" when it was under Venetian rule. The Praetor's Palace, a blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles, proudly rises above the gray limestone main square. Nearby the Postojna Caves are the most popular underground attraction in Europe, and the Predjama Castle was carved out of a limestone cliff.

Day 12 - Venice (Italy)

Savour the majestic beauty of Venice with its glorious canals, famous bridges, opulent palazzi and elegant churches. Admire the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica. Perhaps visit lovely Burano and the renowned glass factories on Murano, take a trip to the romantic city of Verona or enjoy the unique experience of taking tea with a countess in her home, the 16th-century Nani Bernardo Palace.

Day 13 - Venice

Disembark your ship in Venice.
