Explore colourful Portofino, one of the most photographed villages along the Italian Riviera, and visit Portoferraio on the beautiful island of Elba which resembles verdant Corsica more than its Italian sisters. Spend the day at leisure in Porto Santo Stefano which has a strong seafaring history, before cruising to Palermo, an important crossroads of civilisation due to its favourable location at the foot of Monte Pellegrino.

Take the opportunity to discover imposing Mount Etna or enchanting Taormina with its famous ampitheatre, during your time in Giardini Naxos, take a stroll along the labyrinth of winding lanes in Gallipoli's Old Town, and admire the outstanding natural beauty of Kotor, nestled in the beautiful Bay of Kotor. Continue to historic Koper which offers a wealth of architecture and is close to the breathtaking Secovlje Salina Nature Park.

Mediterranean and Amalfi Coast Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Monte Carlo (Monaco)

Fly from the UK to Monte Carlo and embark Silver Shadow.

Day 2 - Portofino (Italy)

Portofino is arguably one of the most photographed villages along the Italian Riviera, and has always been frequented by the rich and famous. Perhaps enjoy a cruise to Santa Margherita then continue by coach to Genoa for a sightseeing tour and pesto-making demonstration, or head to the villages of Rapallo and Santa Margherita.

Day 3 - Portoferraio

Portoferraio is located on the beautiful island of Elba which resembles verdant Corsica more than its Italian sisters. Optional excursions include a visit to Napoleon's villa and a tour along the island's west coast, taking in Torre Saracena, Capoliveri and Porto Azzuro.

Day 4 - Port Santo Stefano

Porto Santo Stefano has a strong seafaring history and is home to incredible Roman remains, including the baths of Domitian. Spend the day at leisure.

Day 5 - At sea

Relax on board during a day at sea.

Day 6 - Palermo (Sicily)

Palermo has always been an important crossroads of civilisation, attracting a variety of different cultures due to its favourable location at the foot of Monte Pellegrino. Perhaps embrace the beauty of Sicily's west coast on an excursion to Erice and Segesta, or discover historic landmarks as you head to Palermo and Monreale.

Day 7 - Giardini Naxos (Italy)

Giardini Naxos is the gateway to enchanting Taormina and its magnificent ampitheatre, and offers stunning views of Mount Etna. Enjoy a thrilling off-road adventure through the Ragabo Pine Forest and see an old lava cave on Mount Etna, take part in an authentic Sicilian cooking class, or join a drive to Naxos and Linguaglossa.

Day 8 - Gallipoli

Gallipoli means "beautiful city" and it doesn't disappoint. The Old Town has a labyrinth of winding lanes and is connected to modern Gallipoli via a 17th-century bridge. Take the opportunity to discover the jewel of the Adriatic, Otranto, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Gallipoli or admire Baroque masterpieces in Lecce, known as the Florence of the South.

Day 9 - Kotor (Croatia)

Picturesque Kotor is nestled in the channel of the Bay of Kotor and is simply breathtaking. Optional excursions include a trip to the beauty of Boka Bay, a sightseeing tour of Montenegro, kayaking in the Bay of Kotor, and watching the sun set over the Bay of Kotor.

Day 10 - At sea

Enjoy the facilities during a relaxing day at sea.

Day 11 - Koper

Koper's old town offers magnificent architecture with many important buildings surrounding the central square or Titov trg, including the Venetian Gothic cathedral. Perhaps board a fishing boat and cruise the Slovenian coast with a fisherman, during which you'll enjoy a fishing demonstration, seafood lunch and the opportunity to try your hand at fishing. Alternatively, relax at the open-air Lepa Vida Thalasso Spa, located in the charming Secovlje Salina Nature Park, or enjoy a truffles and wine experience.

Day 12 - Venice - UK

Disembark Silver Shadow in Venice and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
