Cruise from Rome to Sorrento and enjoy trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum and the wonderful island of Capri before sailing along the stunning Amalfi coast to Salerno and the beautiful island of Sicily.

Enjoy a morning tour of Corfu Town then discover the archaeological ruins of Butrint in Albania. Explore the charming Croatian ports of Split and Dubrovnik before returning to Italy and the Renaissance treasures of Urbino. To conclude this wonderful voyage there is an overnight stop in Venice.

Italian and Adriatic Highlights Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Rome (Italy)

Transfer from the airport to Civitavecchia to board Aegean Odyssey.

Days 2-3 - Sorrento

Join the excursion to mysterious Pompeii and explore the magnificent remains of this town that was engulfed by lava from Vesuvius in 79AD, and visit nearby Herculaneum which perished in the same eruption.

Day 4 - Sorrento - Salerno

Cruise along the spectacular Amalfi coast to Salerno for a visit to Paestum which was founded by Jason of the Argonauts according to legends and is home to three magnificent Greek temples, or enjoy a beautiful drive along the legendary Amalfi Coast to the magnificent clifftop town of Ravello.

Day 5 - Taormina (Sicily)

Taormina is full of culture, history and shopping opportunities. Join the guided walking tour of the narrow medieval streets or take the excursion through the beautiful Sicilian landscapes made famous by the Godfather films.

Day 6 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 7 - Corfu (Greece) - Sarande (Albania)

Join the tour of Byzantine Corfu and discover the 15th-century which is home to one of Greece's most extensive collections of Byzantine art, or visit Achilleon Palace, one of the most renowned royal villas in Europe. From Sarande explore Butrint, one of the Ionian's most remarkable archaeological sites which is surrounded by a picturesque lagoon and one of Albania's most beautiful national parks.

Day 8 - Brindisi (Italy)

From Brindisi, join the excursion to Lecce's many historical treasures including the 25,000-seat Roman amphitheatre, the sumptuously decorated Santa Croce Basilica and the stunning Palazzo Tamborino with its intriguing secret garden.

Day 9 - Dubrovnik (Croatia)

Dubrovnik is known as “the Pearl of the Adriatic,” due to its seafront setting and dramatic mountain backdrop. Take the guided walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the best-preserved walled city in the Mediterranean with a medley of bell towers, copper domes and massive 10th-century walls.

Day 10 - Split

Enjoy a morning tour of Split's remarkable Palace of Diocletian including the Temple of Jupiter and Diocletian's mausoleum before enjoying some free time wander the town at leisure. An optional afternoon tour visits ancient Salona and Trogir, one of the jewels of the Dalmatia coast.

Day 11 - Urbino (Italy)

Explore the Renaissance treasures of the walled town of Urbino. Visit the birthplace of Raphael, the Palazzo Ducale and the magnificent Duomo.

Day 12 - Venice

Join the orientation tour around the heart of Venice to see highlights including St Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace, or visit two islands of the Venetian Lagoon: the famous glass-making island of Murano and colourful Burano.

Day 13 - Venice - UK

Disembark Aegean Odyssey and transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
