Gems of Italy and Spain Itinerary

Day 1 - Barcelona (Spain)

Embark your ship in Barcelona.

Day 2 - Valencia

The City of Arts and Sciences is an impressive collection of attractions, including an opera house and performing arts center, IMAX cinema, planetarium, science museum and oceanographic park. Perhaps visit the Gothic city of Requena, featuring perfectly preserved 100-year-old wine cellars. In Lladró's City of Porcelain museum, explore the production facilities, or maybe visit the National Ceramics Museum, located in the former palace of nobility.

Day 3 - Mahon

Enjoy delightful Mahon and its charming shops. Optional tours showcase pretty fishing villages and magnificent archaeology.

Day 4 - At sea

Enjoy the facilities on board during a day at sea.

Day 5 - Valletta (Malta)

Uncover Malta's many layers, from its prehistoric temples at Tarxien to the colourful fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Head inland to the 'silent city' of Mdina and see the Grand Master's Palace and St John's Cathedral. Alternatively, meet the fisherman at a seaside village and dine on their daily catch, join the guided sightseeing tour of Valletta, or head to Rabat and the Dingli Cliffs.

Day 6 - Taormina (Italy)

Today, enjoy a scenic drive to Mt Etna followed by a visit to the vineyards of San Michele Estate, join the helicopter tour over Mt Etna, or have a picnic with a local family at their farm. Alternatively, opt for the excursion exploring the storied Cyclops Riviera.

Day 7 - Amalfi

Visit enchanting Amalfi to admire the 12th century Capuchin monastery and see the beautiful 11th century cathedral and cloister. Then perhaps discover chic Positano with its relaxed, sophisticated air and white Moorish-style houses clinging to steep slopes around a sparkling bay filled with colorful fishing boats. Alternatively, head to the luminescent waters of the Emerald Grotto.

Day 8 - Civitavecchia

Travel to Rome and revel in the magnificent monuments, from the ancient Roman Forum and Coliseum to the splendor of St. Peter's Basilica with Michelangelo's Pietà and his breathtaking frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Or enjoy a drive through the Italian countryside to the Catacombs, where the first Christians secretly worshipped.

Day 9 - Livorno

From Livorno, take the opportunity to discover the Renaissance treasures of Florence, including Michelangelo's magnificent David, the bridge over the Arno and the astonishing Uffizi Gallery. Alternatively, head to Pisa, home to the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Day 10 - Portofino

Stroll through picturesque Portofino, or be awed by the stunning scenery as you explore the beautiful coastal resorts of Ravello, Sestri Levante or San Fruttuoso by local boat and on foot.

Day 11 - Monte Carlo (Monaco)

Disembark your ship in Monte Carlo.
