Cruise from ancient Athens and head to the legendary island of Patmos and the botanical paradise of Sifnos. Explore the picturesque village of Katakolon and perhaps visit the archaeological site of Olympus.

Cruise to Taormina on the beautiful island of Sicily then sail along the Italian coast to Naples, a city which boasts incredible examples of Greek and Roman architecture, before concluding this superb cruise in Civitavecchia.

Amalfi Coast and Ancient Greece Itinerary

Day 1 - Athens (Greece)

Embark ship in Athens.

Day 2 - Patmos

On Patmos is the Sacred Grotto where St John the Divine wrote the Book of Revelation, and the fortified 11th century Monastery, built to protect the monks, their remarkable temple and a library of treasured texts. It is possible to visit both these sacred places on optional excursions from Patmos.

Day 3 - Kamares

The tranquil island of Sifnos is a botanical paradise. Close to Kamares there is a sandy beach which runs along a lagoon with dunes covered in sea daffodils. Why not join the optional trip to the villages of Kastro and Artemonas for stunning views over the Aegean Sea.

Day 4 - Corinth Canal - Itea

Cruise the magnificent Corinth Canal to Itea, gateway to the Delphi Sanctuary. You can explore this sacred site on an optional excursion, or choose the trip to the historic Saint Lucas Monastery and the mountain village of Arachova.

Day 5 - Katakolon

This picturesque village is surrounded by wooded hillsides. There is an optional excursion to the site of Olympia to see the impressive ancient setting of the Olympia Games which began in 776BC and marvel at the remarkable temples, altars and treasuries which remain today.

Day 6 - Taormina (Sicily)

The seaside town of Taormina overlooks Mount Etna and is home to a Roman-style Greek theatre and 15th-century Palazzo Corvaia. There is the chance to ascend to the main crater of Mount Etna by cable car and 4x4 minibus, or visit a local winery for a tour and wine tasting paired with local delicacies.

Day 7 - Naples (Italy)

Naples is the capital of the beautiful region of Campania. Why not take the chance to visit the ruins of Pompeii which was damaged by the eruption of Mount Etna.

Day 8 - Civitavecchia

Disembark ship in Civitavecchia.
