The Vanilla Islands Itinerary

Day 1 - Mauritius - Nosy Be (Madagascar)

Fly from Mauritius to Nosy Be and embark Le Bougainville.

Day 2 - Mamoudzou (Mayotte)

The small French archipelago of Mazotte is protected by a double barrier reef and is home to a fantastic range of wildlife including dolphins, rays, giant turtles and dugongs.

Day 3 - Moheli

The wild island of Moheli is home to Moheli National Park, the first protected natural environment in the Comoros. Visitors may spot the Comoro falcon, the maki (a lemur living exclusively in this region), green sea turtles and Livingstone’s fruit bats, the largest flying foxes in the world.

Day 4 - Glorieuses (Scattered Islands)

The Scattered Islands form an archipelago of unrivalled beauty in the Mozambique channel. It is made up of two islands, Grande Glorieuse and Ile du Lys, as well as several islets. The archipelago is rich in flora and home to a variety of wildlife. The long beaches of shimmering sand stretch out behind turquoise lagoons, with coral reefs that are home to the world’s highest concentration of sea turtles.

Day 5 - Aldabra Atoll (Seychelles)

Located in the heart of the Seychelles is the Aldabra Atoll, an unspoilt sanctuary where a large population of sea turtles have found refuge. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the atoll is formed by four coral reef islands and contains an emerald lagoon lined with mangrove and white sandy beaches.

Day 6 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 7 - Alphonse Island

The waters surrounding Alphonse Island are home to a variety of fish, from bonefish to barracuda and milkfish. Many birds migrate to the island including the red knot and common chiffchaff.

Day 8 - Poivre Island

Poivre is famous for its attractive semi-lagoon which separates two coral islands and is ideal for snorkelling and diving, with the chance to spot sea turtles in the turquoise waters.

There are very few vehicles on the island of La Digue. The beaches are breathtaking, with the stunning Anse de Source d'Argent framed by magnificent boulders, said to be the most photographed beach in the world.
