From translucent lagoons to stunning beaches, the Scattered Islands will not fail to enchant you. The archipelago is home to the largest concentration of marine turtles in the world and offers outstanding natural beauty. The island of Juan de Nova deep inside the Mozambique Channel owes its existence to its coral reef, while Glorieuses is rich in flora and fauna.

Madagascar is a fascinating blend of Africa and Indonesia, with terraced paddy fields and baobab trees. There may be the opportunity to go out in Zodiacs at Nosi Komba, to meet the ring-tailed lemurs deep within the tropical rainforest.

Scattered like confetti along the clear waters of the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles exude an air of paradise. Located in the heart of the archipelago is the Aldabra Atoll, one of the last unspoiled sanctuaries on earth and home to a large population of sea turtles. Explore this idyllic atoll as well as picturesque La Digue with its world famous beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Take the opportunity to snorkel in the turquoise waters with the tropical fish and relax on the white sandy beaches.

Scattered Islands and Seychelles Itinerary

Day 1 - Durban (South Africa)

Embark Le Lyrial in Durban.

Days 2-3 - At sea

Enjoy the facilities on board Le Lyrial.

Day 4 - Europa (Scattered Islands)

The Scattered Islands are a nature reserve home to the world's largest concentration of marine turtles. Europa island is uninhabited and has stunning beaches and a mangrove lagoon. It is also an important nesting site for green sea turtles.

Day 5 - At sea

Relax on board Le Lyrial as you head to Juan de Nova.

Day 6 - Juan de Nova

Juan de Nova is located inside the Mozambique Channel. The island owes its existence to its coral reef which has developed over the years and resulted in a almost submerged land of sand of coral. It is home to the largest colony of Sooty Tern in the Indian Ocean and is classed as a nature reserve.

Day 7 - At sea

Enjoy the facilities on board as Le Lyrial heads to Nosi Komba.

Day 8 - Glorieuses (Scattered Islands)

The Glorieuses are an archieplago in the Mozambique channel. It is made up of two islands, Grande Glorieuse and Ile du Lys, as well as several islets. The archipelago is rich in flora and home to a variety of wildlife, including seabirds and turtles.

Day 9 - Nosi Komba (Madagascar)

Madagascar is an fascinating blend of Africa and Indonesia. Inland there are terraced paddy fields and traditional homes, while on the coast the memory of pirates give this land a history worthy of famous novels. As for the savannah, it is lined with hundreds of baobab trees. Le Lyrial visits Nosi Komba, a tiny island covered in flora. Explore its traditional villages and tropical rainforest with the naturalist guides. It may be possible to enjoy Zodiac outings during your time here.

Day 10 - Assumption Island (Seychelles)

Assumption Island is located in the Seychelles archipelago just north of Madagascar. It was first discovered by Captain Nicolas Morphey on 14 August 1756 and its name taken from the religious feast which took place the following day.

Days 11-12 - Aldabra

Located in the heart of the Seychelles is the Aldabra Atoll, an unspoilt sanctuary where a large population of sea turtles have found refurge. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the atoll is formed by four coral reef islands and contains an emerald lagoon lined with mangrove.

Day 13 - At sea

Enjoy the facilities on board Le Lyrial.

Day 14 - Alphonse

The waters surrounding Alphonse Island are home to a variety of fish, from bonefish to barracuda and milkfish. Many birds migrate to the island including the red knot and common chiffchaff. Alphonse has restaurants, a diving centre and souvenir shops.

Day 15 - La Digue - Mahe

There are very few vehicles on the island of La Digue. The beaches are breathtaking, with the stunning Anse de Soruce d'Argent framed by magnificent boulders, said to be the most photographed beach in the world. The crystal clear waters are perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Later, arrive in Mahe.

Day 16 - Mahe

Le Lyrial cruises to the island of Mahe, where you will disembark.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
