As you set sail on this unforgettable cruise, prepare to be immersed in the heart of Iceland's rich heritage and natural wonders. Embark on an 8-night cruise on board Seaventure which features a 1-A Super ice class rating — the highest ice class awarded to passenger vessels. This means that we will be able to explore coves, bays, and channels that would previously have been forbidden to us.

Highlights of your cruise include Reykjavik, the world’s northernmost capital, birdwatching in the Westman Islands and whale watching in Skjalfandi Bay. End your spectacular holiday with a night in the Borg Hotel with the chance to explore the iconic Blue Lagoon.

What sets us apart is our commitment to providing an authentic Icelandic experience. Local guides, deeply connected to this enchanting land, will lead you on mesmerizing shore excursions, offering insights into Iceland's culture, history, and captivating way of life. With a local company, full-board service, and the chance to explore the hidden gems of this mystical land, your journey promises to be truly unforgettable. Iceland's summer months, June, July, and August, are characterized by cool and refreshing temperatures. Daytime highs typically range from 10°C to 15°C with occasional warmer spells. The long daylight hours during this period make it an ideal time for outdoor exploration and enjoying Iceland's stunning landscapes.

Iceland - The Land of Fire and Ice Itinerary

Day 1 - UK to Reykjavik

Fly from the UK to Reykjavik and conveniently transfer to Old Reykjavik Harbour, just a five-minute walk from the city's main squares, shopping, and dining. Leave your luggage in a secure place and explore Reykjavik before embarking Seaventure.

Day 2 - Snaefellsnes Peninsula

Frequently referred to as "Iceland in Miniature," the Snaefellsnes region boasts diverse landscapes, including the bird-rich Breidafjordur Bay and the Snaefellsjokull glacier. This glacier crowns a 700,000-year-old dormant volcano, famously featured in Jules Verne's "Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

Day 3 - Isafjordur

Our destination today is Isafjordur, a picturesque town nestled in the remote Westfjords region. This secluded peninsula, connected to the Icelandic mainland by a slender strip of land, boasts untouched landscapes with awe-inspiring fjords, majestic sea-hugging table mountains, and pristine North Atlantic flora.

Day 4 - Siglufjordur - Flatey - Husavik

This morning, we arrive in Siglufjördur, once the herring industry hub. Explore the "herring boom" era at the optional herring museum. In the afternoon, we visit Flatey Island, a haven for birdwatching, with Arctic terns and puffins. By evening, we'll reach Husavik, the northern whale capital.

Day 5 - Husavik

Husavik, often dubbed Iceland's "Whale Watching Capital," boasts offshore waters inhabited by 15 whale species, dolphins, and 30 bird varieties. Observing these majestic Arctic marine creatures in their natural habitat offers an unforgettable and awe-inspiring experience.

Day 6 - Seydisfjordur

Explore Iceland's East Fjords from the charming Seydisfjordur port, a haven nestled between towering mountains and the sea. Enjoy activities like seal spotting, horseback riding, and discovering the exquisite beauty of the Eastfjords.

Day 7 - Djupivogur

Commence your adventure from Djupivogur, a charming fishing village, to explore the Vatnajokull Glacier (optional). Opt for a thrilling four-wheel-drive Jeep tour or embark on a boat excursion in the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon (optional). Witness an unforgettable spectacle of icebergs of various forms and sizes adrift in the water.

Day 8 - Vestmannaeyjar

Off Iceland's South Coast, the Westman Islands emerged from submarine volcanic eruptions 10,000 years ago. We disembark on Heimaey, the sole inhabited island, with houses half-buried by the 1973 eruption. Enjoy birdwatching and the chance to spot whales during this shore excursion.

Day 9 - Reykjavik - Blue Lagoon

Disembark by 9 am after breakfast, followed by a transfer to Hotel Borg. Consider an optional excursion to the Blue Lagoon for a few hours of ultimate relaxation.

Day 10 - Reykjavik to UK

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, followed by a transfer to Keflavik Airport for your return flight to the UK.
