The largest island, Heimaey, was the site of the eruption of the Eldfell volcano in 1973 that covered most of the island with volcanic ash.
Day 9 - Thorlakshofn
Named after Saint Thorlak, who was bishop at Skalholt, this small fishing village forms a natural harbour on the southern coast of Iceland.
Day 10 - Reykjavik - UK
Your cruise ends this morning back in Reykjavik as you say farewell to your crew. Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight homeward.
