Day 1 - UK - Athens (Greece)

From the UK to Athens and transfer for your hotel for a 2-night stay.

Day 2 - Athens

Visit the ancient Acropolis, dominated by the majestic Parthenon, and the theatre of Dionysos. In the new Acropolis Museum walk on the floors of glass above the excavations for an extraordinary view of the ruins.

Day 3 - Delphi

Drive to sacred Delphi, with a stop en-route at Osios Loukas Monastery. Enjoy breathtaking views from Delphi, then walk the sacred way, visit the treasuries, the Grand Temple of Apollo and the theatre. Discover ancient wonders dating back to the 5th century in the Museum, including the Charioteer. Overnight hotel stay in Delphi.

Day 4 - Nauplia

Journey to Mycenae this morning where you will hear tales of Agamemnon and Homer's heroes, see the Royal Palace, and enjoy an archaeological briefing in the Tomb of Agamemnon. Continue on to Nauplia where the medieval cobbled streets are lined with shops and taverns. Overnight hotel stay in Nauplia.

Day 5 - Piraeus

Head to the famous Corinth Canal for a photo stop before exploring the ancient city of Corinth which features an array of historical sights including the Temple of Apollo, the ruins of the Market Place and the Fountain of Priene. Drive to the World Heritage Site of Epidaurus, which was known throughout the Hellenic world for its healing treatments, and see the extremely well preserved theatre before enjoying a traditional Greek lunch. Embark Aegean Odyssey in Piraeus.

Day 6 - Santorini

Admire breathtaking views on the island of Santorini from the village of Oia then travel to the amazing archaeological site of Akrotiri to see the excavations of this ancient city. Alternatively, take a leisurely tour of the beautiful island of Santorini and visit the Argyros Winery for a delicious wine-tasting.

Day 7 - Heraklion, Crete

Enjoy a panoramic drive through Heraklion to admire its many highlights including the harbour and the massive Koules citadel, built by the Venetians in the 16th century to protect against invaders; the Byzantine cathedral and the elegantly restored 16th-century Loggia. Go for a leisurely stroll around this fascinating city before heading to the traditional village of Arolithos for a typical Greek Easter lunch accompanied by a traditional folkloric show.

Day 8 - Agios Nikolaos, Crete

Agios Nikolaos overlooks the beautiful curve of Mirabello Bay and is a gateway to the Cretan countryside. Journey into the countryside on a panoramic tour to explore the medieval Eastern Orthodox monastery of Kera, the plateau of Lassithi and hundreds of picturesque windmills. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the charming village of Seli which boasts spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and windmills before savouring some local treats at a local tavern.

Day 9 - Karpathos

Discover the dramatic scenery of the wild Karpathos mountains and enjoy a guided tour of this lovely island which has managed to remain remarkably unspoiled. Explore the old capital of Aperi with its tower ruins which were built in 3,000BC, marvel at the striking views and visit the wonderful folklore museum in the high village of Othos, discover the open-air agricultural museum in Pyles and admire the unique church in the village of Menetes.

Day 10 - Rhodes

Discover the lookout Mount Smith and the ruins of the Hellenistic Acropolis of Rhodes, which was once the site of a Temple of Apollo and an ancient stadium. Then enjoy a guided your of Rhodes Old Town, explore the World Heritage Site of Rhodes and see the 14th-century Grand Master's Palace, the Street of the Knights and the Knights Hospital. Alternatively take the excursion to the Acropolis at Lindos, crowned by the Doric Temple of Lindian Athena, where there are sweeping views of St Paul's Bay.

Day 11 - Nisyros

Discover the treasures of Nisyros which, according to mythology, was created during the war between Gods and Giants. Nisyros is located on one of the biggest hydro-thermal volcanoes in the world which last erupted in the Middle Ages. Explore this lovely settlement which is one of the most authentic villages in Greece.

Day 12 - Delos - Mykonos

This morning enjoy a visit to the tiny sacred island of Delos and join a walking tour of this mystical site, reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo. This afternoon there is time to explore Mykonos at leisure.

Day 13 - Piraeus - UK

Disembark Aegean Odyssey in Piraeus and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
