Journey from Athens to Venice on this memorable discovery cruise to uncover Renaissance treasures and ancient Greek ruins.

Drive to the World Heritage Site of Epidaurus or hear tales of Agamemnon and Homer's heroes at Mycenae, then visit Ancient Olympia where the first Olympic Games took place in 776 BC. Discover the sacred site of Delphi then call at Corfu to explore Corfu Town or the Achilleion Palace.

Admire the natural wonder of Kotor Bay's stunning fjord and enjoy a leisurely evening in Dubrovnik, the 'Pearl of the Adriatic', followed by a walking tour the next day. Split is home to the magnificent Palace of Diocletian which can be explored on the guided tour, and Trieste offers amazing views from the cathedral and castle. An overnight stay in Venice gives ample time to explore the city's highlights, or perhaps take the Venetian Lagoon trip, followed by an exclusive tour of La Fenice Theatre.

Ancient Greece and Dalmatia Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Athens (Greece)

Fly from the UK to Athens and embark Aegean Odyssey in Piraeus.

Day 2 - Nauplia

From Nauplia there is a choice of two excursions. Drive to the World Heritage Site of Epidaurus, which was known throughout the Hellenic world for its healing treatments, and see the extremely well preserved theatre. Alternatively travel to Mycenae where you will hear tales of Agamemnon and Homer's heroes, see the Royal Palace, and enjoy an archaeological briefing in the Tomb of Agamemnon.

Day 3 - Katakolon

Enjoy a trip to the idyllic setting of Ancient Olympia where the first Olympic Games took place in 776 BC, then visit the archaeological museum to see exhibits including the Head of Hera, the famous statue of Hermes and the helmet of Miltiades.

Day 4 - Itea

From Itea visit sacred Delphi, home to the Grand Temple of Apollo, the famous theatre and the museum which houses ancient wonders dating back to the 5th century.

Day 5 - Corfu

Sail to Corfu and travel to Corfu Town for a tour of its Byzantine treasures including the Byzantine Museum which is housed in a 15th-century church, or join the excursion to Achilleion Palace, one of the most famous royal villas in Europe.

Day 6 - Kotor Bay (Montenegro) - Dubrovnik (Croatia)

Cruise through Kotor Bay in Montenegro to Dubrovnik, where there is time to spend the evening at leisure ashore.

Day 7 - Dubrovnik

Join the walking tour of the majestic walled city of Dubrovnik, the 'Pearl of the Adriatic' and uncover this UNESCO World Heritage Site's wonderful treasures. Admire its beautiful Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance churches, monasteries, palaces and fountains and explore the Dominican Monastery, the Franciscan Monastery, Sponza Palace and Onofriou’s Fountain.

Day 8 - Split

Tour the town of Split including the amazing Palace of Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or join the optional excursion to the town of Salona, home to the most important Roman excavations in Croatia, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Trogir.

Day 9 - Trieste (Italy)

The Italian city of Trieste is home to cobbled piazzas, Baroque churches and pastel-coloured buildings. At the top of San Giusto hill there is a medieval cathedral and castle, with amazing city views from the terraces.

Day 10 - Venice

Enjoy a walking tour of Venice this morning with highlights including St Mark’s Square, the Campanile, the Basilica and the 14th-century Doge's Palace or join the optional tour of the famous glass-making island of Murano and colourful Burano. This evening enjoy an exclusive visit to La Fenice Theatre for a private tour of this famous building.

Day 11 - Venice - UK

Disembark Aegean Odyssey and transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
