Begin your Greek Islands holiday with a two-night hotel stay in Athens, giving plenty of time to experience the world-famous Acropolis, site of the Parthenon.

Take a sightseeing drive to the monastery of Osios Loukas and sacred Delphi, home of the ancient Oracle of Apollo. Enjoy an overnight hotel stay in Delphi then explore the once-great city of Mycenae and spend the night in a hotel in Nauplia. Discover the Greek amphitheatre of Epidaurus then visit Corinth, once one of the largest and most important cities of the ancient world.

Embark Aegean Odyssey in Piraeus and head to the beautiful island of Hydra for a relaxing day at leisure. See the Minoan site of Akrotiri that was wonderfully well-preserved beneath volcanic ash, and in Crete learn about the legendary Minotaur’s Labyrinth, hidden beneath the Palace of Knossos. Aegean Experience Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Athens (Greece)

Fly to Athens and transfer to the hotel for a 2-night stay.

Day 2 - Athens

Visit the ancient Acropolis, the majestic Parthenon and the theatre of Dionysos. In the new Acropolis Museum you can walk on glass floors above the excavations for an extraordinary view of the ruins.

Day 3 - Delphi

Drive to sacred Delphi, with a stop en-route at Osios Loukas Monastery. Enjoy breathtaking views from Delphi, then visit the treasuries, the Grand Temple of Apollo and the theatre. Discover ancient wonders dating back to the 5th century in the Museum, including the Charioteer. Overnight hotel stay in Delphi.

Day 4 - Nauplia

Drive to Mycenae this morning where you will hear tales of Agamemnon and Homer's heroes, see the Royal Palace, and enjoy an archaeological briefing in the Tomb of Agamemnon. Continue on to Nauplia where the medieval cobbled streets are lined with shops and taverns. Overnight hotel stay in Nauplia.

Day 5 - Corinth - Epidaurus - Piraeus

Drive to the famous Corinth Canal for a photo stop then visit the ancient city of Corinth to see the Temple of Apollo, the ruins of the Market Place and the Fountain of Priene. Drive to the World Heritage Site of Epidaurus, which was known throughout the Hellenic world for its healing treatments, and see the extremely well preserved theatre before enjoying a traditional Greek lunch. Embark Aegean Odyssey in Piraeus.

Day 6 - Hydra

Enjoy a day at leisure on the picturesque island of Hydra, where the tranquil beaches are perfect for relaxation.

Day 7 - Santorini

Admire breathtaking views on the island of Santorini from the village of Oia then travel to the amazing archaeological site of Akrotiri to see the excavations of this ancient city. Enjoy lunch at a local taverna in tiny Pyrgos, then explore the scenic capital of Fira and perhaps return to the ship by cable car.

Day 8 - Heraklion

Enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Minoan Palace of Knossos and learn about the legend of the Minotaur. Visit the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to view one of the best collections of artifacts from the Minoan civilisation of Crete.

Day 9 - Karpathos

Discover the dramatic scenery of the wild Karpathos mountains.

Day 10 - Rhodes

Tour the World Heritage Site of Rhodes and see the 14th-century Grand Master's Palace, the Street of the Knights and the Knights Hospital. Alternatively take the excursion to the Acropolis at Lindos, crowned by the Doric Temple of Lindian Athena, where there are sweeping views of St Paul's Bay.

Day 11 - Nisyros

Discover the treasures of Nisyros which, according to mythology, was created during the war between Gods and Giants.

Day 12 - Delos - Mykonos

This morning enjoy a visit to the tiny sacred island of Delos (may not be available on April itinerary). Enjoy a walking tour of this mystical site, reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo. This afternoon there is time to explore Mykonos at leisure.

Day 13 - Athens - UK

Disembark Aegean Odyssey in Piraeus and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
