Russian Far East Expedition Itinerary
Day 1 - UK - Nome (Alaska)
Fly from the UK to Nome and transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Nome
Embark your ship to begin this incredible expedition cruise.
Day 3 - International Date Line
Cross the International Date Line and lose a day.
Day 4 - Provideniya (Russia)
The former Soviet military port of Provideniya is home to less 2000 people, the majority of whom are Yupik. It is the gateway to the Russian Far East and home to a fascinating museum which houses exhibits about the region's history and wildlife. There are also displays of clothing from the local Chukotka people.
Day 5 - At sea

Day 6 - Meynypilgyno
The Chukotkan village of Meynypilgyno is located on the shores of the Bering Sea. The villagers make every effort to keep the indigenous traditions alive and there is still a traditional Chukchi ensemble and cultural centre. The village does have some modern facilities though, including a hospital and high school. The village museum documents the local ethnography and culture of the area.
Day 7 - Anastasiya Bay
Anastasiya Bay is a U-shaped bay on the Bering Sea. Keep an eye out for walruses and seals, as well as a variety of birds, including Horned Puffins, Black-legged Kittiwakes and White Wagtails. Perhaps take a walk and admire the jagged cliffs separated by valleys with tranquil lakes and cascading waterfalls.
Day 8 - At sea

Day 9 - Tymlat
The Koryak village of Tymlat was established in the mid-19th century as a trading post. It is located next to the Tymlat River and its 500 inhabitants make a living from salmon fishing as well as herring and navaga. The village is renowned for its Stae Koryak folk group, "Mengo".
Day 10 - Yuzhnaya Glubokaya - Lavrova Bay
See the ruins of a long-abandoned herring plant and an abandoned settlement during your time in Yuzhnaya Glubokaya. Keep an eye out for bears in the distance during a tundra walk through the meadows covered in wildflowers. Later, cruise to Lavrova Bay.
Day 11 - Peter Bay - Bogoslav Island
Peter Bay is located at the foot of the Koryak Mountain range, north of the Kamchatka Peninsula. At the entrance of the bay is a Largha seal haul-out as well as a small lagoon which is flanked by the ocean and the bay. At the southern end of the bay there are several lakes dammed behind a moraine ridge, and they feed a spectacular waterfall. Keep an eye out for seabirds nesting on the steep cliffs at the western and eastern sides of the bay. Later, cruise to Bogoslav Island which is a haven for birds, including Common Guillemots, Black-legged Kittiwakes and Horned Puffins.
Day 12 - At sea

Day 13 - Yttygran Island - Proliv Senyavina
See the array of bowhead whale bones and rock arrangements on Yttygran Island, which combines archaeology with outstanding natural beauty. An early morning landing adds magic and mystery to the island due to the soft hues and lack of light. You may wish to join the hike up the steep hill for incredible views. Later, head to Proliv Senyavina. Enter a small lagoon by Zodiac and hike across tundra and rolling hills to reach hot springs. You may wish to enter a small pool prepared by local fisherman.
Day 14 - International Date Line - Nome (Alaska) - UK
Gain a day as you cross the International date Line, before arriving back in Nome. Disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
Day 15 - UK
Arrive back in the UK.
