Antigua has an incredible 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Enjoy a refreshing swim stop and barbecue on deck, before sailing to Montserrat, known as the Pompeii of the Caribbean as it is partly covered in ash following a volcanic eruption. Continue to idyllic St Barts, frequented by the rich and famous and a haven for duty-free shopping.

Norman Island is believed to have been one of the islands which inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's novel, Treasure Island. Hear tales of pirates and buried treasure, before heading to idyllic Tortola, capital of the British Virgin Islands. There is something for everyone, from watersports to museums and colourful markets. Discover picturesque Jost van Dyke, where there is the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters or relax on one of the stunning beaches.

Virgin Gorda was discovered by Christopher Colombus in 1493 and is renowned for the Baths, spectacular boulders scattered along a sheltered beach. Relax on Anguilla's white sandy beaches or enjoy a drink at one of the colourful beach bars, before Variety Voyager cruises back to St Maarten.

Leeward and British Virgin Islands Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - St Maarten (Leeward Islands)

Fly from the UK to St Maarten and embark Variety Voyager from around 4pm for your relaxing cruise around the Caribbean. Dinner on board.

Day 2 - Antigua (West Indies) - Montserrat (Leeward Islands)

You'll arrive in Antigua early morning. Antigua has an incredible 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Enjoy a refreshing swim stop then a barbecue on deck as you set sail to the island of Montserrat, arriving early afternoon. Known as the Pompeii of the Caribbean, Montserrat is partly covered in ash by a volcanic eruption. The remainder of the island is covered by verdant vegetation and is simply stunning. There is an optional tour to the Montserrat Volcano Observatory to take in the magnificent views.

Day 3 - Saba (Dutch West Indies) - St Barts (Leeward Islands)

This morning, there is a refreshing swim stop with views across to Saba's volcanic peaks. Saba is often called the Unspoiled Queen of the Caribbean as it has been untouched by tourism. Enjoy a barbecue on deck as you sail towards St Barts which was once an important trade port where booty from sea raids was stored or sold. Today, it is frequented by luxury yachts owned by the rich and famous, and the pretty capital of Gustavia offers upmarket boutiques and fine French restaurants. It is a haven for duty-free shopping. Spend the afternoon at leisure in the capital or join the optional hike along the Colombier Beach Trail for the opportunity to see nesting red-billed tropicbirds.

Day 4 - Norman Island (British Virgin Islands)

Midday arrival at Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands archipelago, believed to have been one of the islands which inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's novel, Treasure Island. There are many stories of pirates and buried treasure. The caves off Treasure Point are home to colourful corals and teeming with tropical fish, making them perfect for snorkelling. Although there are no permanent residents on the island, there are two restaurants serving delicious fresh cuisine. Overnight at anchor.

Day 5 - Tortola Island - Jost van Dyke

Morning arrival at Tortola Island. With its white sandy beaches, verdant mountains and yacht-filled harbours, Tortola is a paradise island and the capital of the British Virgin Islands. There is variety of museums, the Mount Healthy Windmill and Callwood's Rum Distillery. The island's capital, Road Town, has a colourful crafts market and a selection of speciality shop selling glassware and ceramics. Enjoy a swim stop and beach activities followed by a barbecue on deck. Set sail to Jost van Dyke, arriving in the afternoon. Swim, relax on the beach, or enjoy one of the hiking trails. Perhaps watch the sun set from the comfort of Foxy's Tamarind Bar in Great Harbour, which has been serving since 1966. Overnight at anchor.

Day 6 - Virgin Gorda

Morning arrival at Virgin Gorda, the third largest island in the British Virgin archipelago and overlooked by Gorda Peak. It was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493, and is famous for its Baths, spectacular boulders dotted along a sheltered beach. The island also offers yacht clubs, secluded coves, and luxury resorts. History lovers will enjoy the African, Indian and Spanish influences, including the Spanish ruins at Little Fort National Park. Enjoy a full day swimming and relaxing on the beach. Overnight at sea to Anguilla.

Day 7 - Anguilla (Leeward Islands)

Early morning arrival in Anguilla, a picture-postcard Caribbean island with gorgeous white-sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and colourful beach bars. Watersports are extremely popular, from snorkelling to paddleboarding and kite-surfing. The island has a good arts and crafts scene with numerous art galleries and a crafts centre. The Heritage Museum Collection gives a fascinating insight into 19th-century life on the island. The island is also home to Cuban tree frogs, red-footed tortoise and green iguanas. Overnight at anchor.

Day 8 - St Maarten - UK

Disembark Variety Voyager in St Maarten at 9am and transfer to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.

Day 9 - UK

Arrive back in the UK.
