Caribbean and Orinoco Itinerary

Day 1 - Fort-de-France (Martinique)

Embark Le Champlain in Fort-de-France.

Day 2 - Pigeon Point (St Lucia) - Soufriere

Discover the natural beauty of the tropical island of St Lucia on an optional excursion by catamaran. Swim in a tranquil bay, then board a coach in Soufriere for a trip to the famous Sulphur Springs and the recreated plantation at Morne Coubaril Estate. After a creole buffet lunch, visit the Botanical Gardens and Diamond Falls before returning to Le Champlain in Soufriere, famous for its towering volcanic spires.

Day 3 - Bequia (St Vincent)

Bequia is the second-largest of the 32 islands that make up the country of St Vincent and the Grenadines. Lively Port Elizabeth is the island's main town, and tropical rainforest and white-sand beaches provide a natural setting for tranquil walks.

Day 4 - Tobago Cays

The Tobago Cays are five small uninhabited islands with a colourful coral reef and a lagoon, perfect for diving, swimming and snorkelling.

Day 5 - Saint George's (Grenada)

The 'Spice Island' of Grenada has a mountainous interior covered in dense rainforest and tumbling waterfalls. Its elegant capital, Saint George’s, lies in a horseshoe-shaped harbour with pastel-coloured colonial buildings. Optional excursions include a trip into rural Grenada to see historic Fort Frederick, the gardens at Laura Lands and the secluded beach at La Sagesse; or a visit to a nutmeg cooperative, an ancient cocoa plantation and the Concord waterfalls.

Day 6 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Days 7-9 - Cruising the Orinoco river

Explore the unique Orinoco river, for unforgettable sailing surrounded by extremely dense vegetation. Look out for amazing wildlife including sloths, capuchin monkeys, tapirs, jaguars, Orinoco pink dolphins, toucans, hummingbirds and the anaconda, and enjoy special encounters with the native Warao tribes. An optional excursion features a coach trip to a zoological park for beautiful views of the Caroni River Falls, and the spectacular waterfalls at La Llovizna Park.

Day 11 - Paramaribo (Suriname)

Day 12 - Iles du Salut

Emperor Napoleon III sent prisoners from the French mainland to these three tiny islands, which were considered escape-proof. Today, the islands are a relaxing hideaway with several restored prison buildings and abundant wildlife including green-winged Ara macaws, capuchin monkeys and sea turtles.
