Explore Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where there is an optional excursion to Teide National Park. Cruise to El Hierro, and discover its dramatic landscapes and tropical valley lined with pineapple, mango and papaya orchards. There is also an optional excursion to Valverde, tucked away among the green hills.

Continue on to Santa Cruz de la Palma where there is the chance to visit a ceramic workshop where potters create replicas of ceramics and handicrafts once used by the island's indigenous people or visit the Silk Museum at the centre of the island to learn about the labour-intensive techniques involved in producing the fabric. Cruise on to La Gomera, gateway to Garajonay National Park, a UNECO World Heritage Site.

La Belle des Oceans continues on to La Palma to explore the island of Gran Canaria including Bandama Caldera, a volcanic crater, before reaching Arrecife.

Day 1 - Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Embark La Belle des Oceans in Santa Cruz. The ship remains in port overnight.

Day 2 - Santa Cruz de Tenerife

This morning, join an optional excursion to Teide National Park. Created in 1954, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The last time the volcano erupted was in 1909. Experience an astonishing view from the top of the crater, andstroll around a bit to experience it all from different angles. This afternoon, set off on an optional visit to Puerto de la Cruz to meander down the charming streets lined with gardens, beautiful homes, and quaint churches. Stop at the Mirador de Humbolt, a lookout point with sweeping views of the Orotava Valley and its banana plantations before visiting the Orchid Garden Sitio Litre. Later, take part in our onboard lecture. When La Belle des Océans casts off for its cruise through the Canary Islands, the crew will welcome you on the Sun Deck for a cocktail. The ship will cruise to El Hierro overnight.

Day 3 - Puerto de la Estaca

Set off on an optional tour of El Hierro. One amazing stop will be the Mirador de Jinama to take in the splendid view of the El Golfo Valley. Continue the tour through the lush, tropical valley—lined with pineapple, banana, mango, and papaya orchards before arriving at the ecomuseum, where you can learn more about the island’s giant lizard. The last stop will be the Mirador de la Peña, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of wine and tapas while taking in the glorious views. Join an optional excursion to Valverde this afternoon. Visiting the village of Valverde is like jumping in a time machine. Unlike the other capital cities in the Canary Islands, calm Valverde is tucked away among the green hills and has an exceptional view of the Atlantic. Later, take part in our onboard lecture. Cruise to La Palma overnight.

Day 4 - Santa Cruz de la Palma

Spend the morning on an optional excursion: Volcanoes and Wines. After visiting the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Snows, continue on to the Mirador de la Conception overlook to take in the gorgeous views of Santa Cruz and the eastern coast of the island. Then, visit the Museum El Molino and its ceramic workshop, where potters create replicas of the ceramics and handicrafts once used by the island’s indigenous people. The next stop will be the San Antonio Volcano for a walk around its crater before enjoying a tasting of some wines in a local bodega. Join an optional excursion to the island of La Palma this afternoon. Visit the Silk Museum at the centre of the island to learn about the labour-intensive techniques involved in producing the fabric. The tour includes the workshop, where you can observe the artists crafting their work using traditional know-how. Afterwards, head to a wonderfully restored sugar plantation that contains the largest collection of private art in the islands.Take a break and enjoy a cup of tea and a pastry while taking in the ocean view. Optional Excursion, not included in the package, and only through reservations before your trip (limited number of spots available): Stargazing. La Palma is known for having one of the most beautiful night-time skies. At nightfall, leave by coach for the Pilar Observation Point at 3,280 feet in altitude (1,000 m), where a specialist will reveal all of the celestial secrets above us. Cruise to La Gomera overnight.

Day 5 - San Sebastian (La Gomera)

Join an optional excursion to La Gomera (lunch included). Visit Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site offering a striking contrast to the rest of the archipelago. Stop for a superb, typical island lunch and listen to a demonstration of Silbo Gomero, the whistled language used by the islanders. Re-enter Garajonay National Park to see the Roque Agando rock formation. Later, there will be a lecture in the lounge. Our ship will cruise to Gran Canaria.

Day 6 - Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)

Join us on an optional, full-day excursion to discover Gran Canaria (lunch included). We’ll begin in Vegueta and the Casa de Colon, a colonial-style mansion with exhibits about the history of the Canary Islands and their link with the New World. Continue on to the Bandama Caldera, a volcanic crater that reaches 1,867 feet above sea level (569 m). After a trip through the fabulous countryside, arrive in the village of Tejeda. Next stop: Teror, a municipality and place of pilgrimage for all the inhabitants of the island. Lastly, head to Arucas, one of the most beautiful cities in Gran Canaria. After the excursion, begin to cruise towards Lanzarote. Tonight is the festive gala evening.

Day 7 - Arrecife (Lanzarote)

This morning, join an optional excursion to Timanfaya National Park. Lanzarote is truly a unique place. Seventy-five percent of the island’s surface is covered with craters and lava flows dating back to massive volcanic eruptions 270 years ago. The Fire Mountains in the park possess a singular beauty. At the heart of the stone and rock vineyards in Geria, enjoy a tasting of wine and cheese at one of the oldest bodegas on the island. This afternoon, join an optional excursion to learn about César Manrique, one of the most important artists in the Canary Islands. Jameos del Agua is the art, culture, and tourism centre where his talents can be experienced firsthand. Afterwards, head to the Mirador del Rio to take in the outstanding views of the moon-like landscape. Lastly, visit the César Manrique House Museum, an incarnation of his talents.

Day 8 - Arrecife

Disembark La Belle des Oceans after breakfast.
