Discover Canada’s dynamic metropolis of Montreal with its outstanding views and impressive Notre-Dame Basilica before cruising to Tadoussac; Canada’s oldest village. From the remote paradise of Labrador, explore Red Bay and Battle Harbour with its rich fishing background and delve into the history and culture of Canada’s indigenous people at the Hopedale Museum. Canada and Greenland Expedition

Day 1 - Toronto (Canada)

Embark Hanseatic Inspiration in Toronto.

Day 2 - At Sea

Enjoy the facilities on board Hanseatic Inspiration whilst cruising Lake Ontario.

Day 3 - Montreal

The vibrant metropolis of Montreal all sits on a picturesque island in the St. Lawrence River. Perhaps ascend Mont Royal, the local mountain and admire the views of the city including the Notre-Dame Basilica or hike up the Laurentian Mountain for spectacular panoramic views of the endless forests and deep-blue lakes. Alternatively, take the opportunity to visit the chic Mont Tremblant winter sports resort or enjoy a guided bicycle tour through Montreal.

Day 4 - At Sea

Enjoy the facilities on board Hanseatic Inspiration whilst cruising St. Lawrence River.

Day 5 - Tadoussac

Arrive in Tadoussac, Canada's oldest village which was founding in 1535. Perhaps go whale-watching on the St. Lawrence Fjord which is home to blue, fin and humpback whales or take the opportunity to hike on the Sentier du Fjord trail which showcases outstanding natural beauty.

Day 6 - At Sea

Enjoy the facilities on board Hanseatic Inspiration as you sail through the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Day 7 - Norris Point, Newfoundland

Norris Point is a charming town in Bonne Bay. Perhaps take the opportunity to hike through Gros Morne National Park where you can visit the ancient table mountains and the fishing village of Lobster Cove Head. Alternatively, take an optional boat trip in Bonne Bay to admire the view of the lunar-like Tablelands.

Day 8 - Day 11 - Labrador

Arrive in Labrador, a remote paradise which is largely untouched by tourism. From here you will have the opportunity to explore the grand history of fishing in the villages of Red Bay and Battle Harbour and if the port authority allows it, you will cruise to the Inuit Community of Rigolet. Also, head to Hopedale and explore the culture and history of the First Nations, Canada’s indigenous peoples at the fantastic museum.

Day 12 - At Sea

Enjoy the facilities on board Hanseatic Inspiration as you spend the day at sea.

Day 13 - Day 15 - Hudson Strait

Head north towards the famous Hudson Strait where the ice conditions will often determine the course. From here, discover the wildly beautiful Akpatok Island with its steep rocky coasts and breath-taking landscapes; you may even see a Polar Bear. Then, explore the rugged hills of Sugluk Bay on a zodiac before heading to Diana Island (Diana Bay) to experience how the pioneers felt all those years ago. Look out for fascinating wildlife including musk oxen and reindeer.

Day 16 - Cruising off Monumental Island

Head to Monumental Island on a Zodiac and witness the incredible natural environment, hopefully, you will come face-to-face with walruses.

Day 17 - At Sea

Enjoy the facilities on board Hanseatic Inspiration as you spend the day at sea.

Day 18 - Day 20 - Western Coast of Greenland

Journey to Qeqertarsuaq and explore the pretty natural harbour and unique town which showcases a world of colourful houses, huskies and kayaks. Admire the majestic glacier of Ilulissat, a breathtaking natural wonder. Enjoy a hike in the ice fjord with the experienced expedition team, before cruising to Disko Bay which you'll explore by Zodiac. Later, visit Sisimiut, once a trading post, which has colourful houses, and join a hike to Tele Island, home of the Inuit.

Day 21 - Kangerlussuaq - Germany

Disembark Hanseatic Inspiration and transfer to the airport for your charter flight to Germany.

A change in itinerary may be required on this expedition. The captain will decide on the best possible alternative depending on weather and ice conditions.
