Two Queens battle it out on the Mississippi river
Competition for cruise passengers on the Mississippi river from New Orleans is hotting up between newly launched Mississippi Queen and the older American Queen.
Now American Queen is getting a $500,000 a hotel-style refurbishment in New Orleans. The authentic paddlewheeler is receiving new carpets, reupholstered furniture, artwork in the hallways and a rebuilt paddlewheel as well as a refurbished dining room and extra dining venue.
