Two cruise lines add Galapagos ships and cruises for 2013

Tues 5 February 2013

Following the success of Galapagos cruises on Celebrity Xpedition two other major cruise lines have introduced their own ships to Galapagos Islands cruising.

Luxury cruise line Silversea is to offer two itineraries on board luxury expedition ship Silver Galapagos, currently Galapagos Explorer II. The first itinerary explores the eastern islands of the Galapagos archipelago, including San Cristobal and Espanola with the second itinerary focusing on the western islands, including Fernandina, Isabela and Floreana.

Avalon Waterways has introduced similar itineraries onboard small ship MV Santa Cruz, with optional cruise and stay packages giving guests the opportunity to discover Lima in Peru, known as the ‘City of the Kings’, the spectacular Sacred Valley, Inca site of Machu Picchu and Quito, the capital of Ecuador.
