Scenic unveils Eclipse

As Scenic celebrated their 30th birthday last month, they unveiled plans for a new luxury ocean ship, designed with state-of-the-art safety features to unlock previously unreachable locations. Scenic are renowned for providing guests with top-notch cruising experiences on their fleet of luxurious ships, but the new Scenic Eclipse will be their first ocean cruise vessel and will offer unsurpassable 6-star luxury to all guests.

The Scenic Eclipse, will be Scenic’s first ocean cruise vessel and is set to launch on 31st August 2018 with a maiden voyage from Istanbul to Venice before sailing off to The Americas; Antarctica; Europe and The Mediterranean.

Dubbed, the world’s First ‘Discovery Yacht’, Scenic’s innovative new build will provide up to 228 guests at a time, with an all-inclusive experience, indistinguishable from those offered at the top hotels in the world and will operate more than 20 itineraries around the globe. There will be 114 suites to choose from, ranging in size from 344 square feet suites to the 2,507 foot Owners Penthouse suite and each will have their own veranda, separate living room and a Butler service with an almost 1:1 crew to guest ratio.

Currently under construction in Croatia, the 10-deck, 16,500 ton vessel, will cater for all culinary tastes with six dining experiences: from pan-Asian Cuisine to contemporary French dining, there will be something to suit every palate and all onboard dining will be surcharge-free. Complimentary top-shelf drinks will be available all day, every day.

Scenic Eclipse will be the first ship positioned in the Ice Class 1A – Super category, so it will possess the capability to navigate some of the most remote areas of the Arctic and Antarctic. It will also boast two on-board helicopters for air excursions and a seven-seated submarine for underwater exploration, along with kayaks, zodiacs and snorkelling equipment for the slightly more adventurous explorers. Those who would rather unwind on board can make use of the indulgent spa sanctuary which will offer a variety of luxurious treatments. A fitness area featuring an indoor heated pool with retractable roof, shallow plunge pools, a gym and a Yoga and Pilates studio, will be available for guests to use at their convenience.

Scenic recognises that the safety and comfort of guests is of upmost importance so the Eclipse will be built to the highest safety standards and feature the most recent technological advancements, including zero speed stabiliser fins which are 50% larger than standard fins. This innovative feature will provide increased stability during the navigation of difficult waters and provide added comfort to guests whilst the ship is stationary.
