Fri 20 May 2016

In 2002, Hurtigruten launched its first expeditions to Antarctica, shortly followed by Greenland. In 2017, Hurtigruten is expanding its voyage collection further by exploring new, exciting destinations on its fleet of purpose-built expediton ships.

Explore new worlds with Hurtigruten

Hurtigruten has launched brand new routes for 2017-2018, including expedition cruises to the Amazon Rainforest and routes following in the footsteps of the Vikings. In 2017 Hurtigruten’s Arctic program will stretch to Canada's Newfoundland and Labrador, adding to the current roster of Spitsbergen, Iceland and Greenland.

The latest addition to the fleet, MS Spitsbergen is modern and elegantly designed, and offers guests top levels of comfort whilst exploring the untouched beauty of the northern hemisphere. She carries just 200 passengers and voyages will be accompanied by experts in geology, history and ornithology. Spitsbergen will join the company's other superb expediton ships, including Fram and Midnatsol, all of which are equipped to navigate polar waters and remote islands.

Voyages feature exhilarating landings on the wonderful white kingdom of Antarctica to explore the glaciers and unique wildlife of the region, including whales and many types of penguin.
