2012 breaks record for cruises from the UK
Last year was a record year for UK cruise ports as passenger numbers increased by 10 per cent, with the percentage expected to rise in 2013.
The ports of Southampton, Dover and Portsmouth experienced a growth in popularity as the number of passengers from the Southeast of England increased.
Cruises around the British Isles increased in popularity with fifty two UK ports receiving cruise calls last year. Figures also show that more than half of all British passengers booked more than one cruise in 2012, with the Mediterranean continuing to be the most popular destination.
