Sail from the colourful Danish capital of Copenhagen to medieval Tallinn with its UNESCO-listed Old Town full of picturesque architecture. Spend three days in historic St Petersburg, the Venice of the North, with its baroque cathedrals, imperial palaces, suspended bridges, theatres and museums. Cosmopolitan Helsinki’s historic centre sits alongside spectacular modern buildings and the bustling Kallio district teeming with boutiques and restaurants.

Cruise to the old Hanseatic city of Visby and pass through the spectacular fortifications at Dalmans gate into the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Admire rose-adorned cafés and stop for a taste of one of the island’s specialities, saffron pancakes with red berries. Finally call at Sweden’s capital Stockholm, with more than 50 bridges linking the 14 islands of this scenic medieval city with a modern twist.

Historic Cities of the Baltic Sea Itinerary

Day 1 - Copenhagen (Denmark)

Embark ship in Copenhagen.

Day 2 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 3 - Tallinn (Estonia)

Discover the medieval Old Town of Tallinn, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of cobblestone lanes and magnificent churches. Highlights include the 15th-century apothecary, Russian Orthodox Church, Tall Hermann Tower and the imposing castle. Perhaps enjoy an Estonian folk show as part of an optional excursion.

Days 4-6 - St Petersburg (Russia)

Enjoy a three-day stay in the cultural city of St Petersburg, from where there is the opportunity to visit the Hermitage, one of the world's largest museums, Peterhof Palace with its lavish gardens and majestic fountains, and St Isaac's Cathedral.

Day 7 - Helsinki (Finland)

Helsinki blends traditional and modern architecture with the beauty of nature. The city is home to the famous Rock Church and Sibelius Monument. See Russian onion-domed churches and magnificent Art Nouveau buildings during your time here or perhaps board the local ferry and explore Suomenlinna Island.

Day 8 - Visby (Sweden)

The delightful medieval town of Visby is located on the island of Gotland and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visby is an important reminder of the Hanseatic League with its relics and cobbled streets. See the spectacular Visby fortifications at Dalmans Gate, Saint Mary's Cathedral with its octagonal steeples and the grand homes of rich merchants.

Day 9 - Stockholm

Disembark ship in Stockholm.
