From Darwin, cruise to the Tanimbar archipelago in Indonesia and head to the city of Saumlaki. Here you can embrace the vibrant culture of the Tanimbar islands and see the bay at Saumlaki which was the site of a battle during World War II. Then journey to the small Australian settlement of Wyndham which is the gateway to the extraordinary black and orange-striped Bungle Bungle Mountains.

Cruise through the King George River which boasts outstanding landscapes and visit the immense, thundering King George Falls. Enjoy the vast array of wildlife on the Hunter River including mudskippers, fiddler crabs and the infamous saltwater crocodiles and experience the sheer vastness and power of the Mitchell Falls.

Discover the Buccaneer Archipelago which surrounds the impressive spread of Yampi Sound and look out for white-bellied Sea Eagles, Brahminy Kites, Ospreys and dolphins. This luxury, 10-night cruise will come to an end in Broome.

Day 1 - Darwin (Australia)

Embark Silver Discoverer in Darwin.

Days 2 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 3 - Saumlaki (Indonesia)

Visit the capital city of Saumlaki on the island of Yamdena which is the main island of the Tanimbar archipelago. Delve into the distinct, vibrant culture of the Tanimbar islands, see the traditional crafts and meet the local residents who still carry on their own centuries-old forms of music and dance. Perhaps visit the bay at Saumlaki which was the site of a battle during World War II between the Dutch and the Japanese.

Day 4 - At sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 5 - Wyndham (Australia)

The small settlement of Wyndham is the gateway to the Bungle Bungle Mountains and the Purnululu National Park; a World Heritage Site. The Bungle Bungle Mountains are geological formations of giant orange and black striped domes rising out of the ground which have been shaped over 350 million years. This extraordinary landscape is fascinating to see. The nearby Ord River is peaceful and serene, look out for freshwater crocodiles, fruit bats, short-eared rock wallabies and Mangrove Herons as you cruise through.

Day 6 - King George River

Weave through the spectacular King George River which has an amazing landscape before getting to the King George Falls; the 80 metre high waterfalls which are one of Kimberley's most magnificent natural wonders.

Day 7 - Day 8 - Hunter River Region

Spend two days exploring the Hunter River Region which is home to an immense mangrove system surrounded by soaring red sandstone cliffs. See the famous Mitchell Falls where four tiers of waterfalls plunge into deep pools that flow out into the mighty Mitchell River and perhaps enjoy a dip in the cool water at the headland of the falls.

Day 9 - Day 10 - Buccaneer Archipelago Region

Spend two days discovering the Buccaneer Archipelago which surrounds the impressive spread of Yampi Sound. Pearlers began visiting the area in the late 1800s, and more recently mining operators established open-cut mines on Koolan Island on the east side of the Sound. Some of the richest iron ore in the world is extracted here to this day. Admire the coastline of Yampi which showcases wildly twisted rock layers and look out for white-bellied Sea Eagles, Brahminy Kites, Ospreys, Common Sandpipers and Eastern Reef Egrets which inhabited the archipelago.

Day 11 - Broome

Disembark Silver Discoverer in Broome.
