This voyage to the Svalbard Archipelago and Greenland promises to be an Arctic adventure.

Learn about Longyearbyen's history, geology and wildlife during a guided tour, with highlights including Svalbard Church and the fascinating Svalbard Museum. You'll then embark your expedition ship and discover the raw Arctic wilderness at its best. Join the experienced team on Zodiac landings which take in the soaring mountains, incredible glaciers and walrus colonies. You may be lucky enough to see a polar bear, known as the 'King of the Arctic'.

Keep an eye out for whales feeding in the waters off the coast of Greenland and seabirds soaring in the skies above. Spend several days exploring the east coast of Greenland with its deep fjords and glistening icebergs which silently float by. The multi-coloured tundra is home to musk oxen and Arctic hares as well as Thule archaeological sites and Inuit hunters' cabins. A highlight is a visit to the traditional village of Ittoqqortoormiit and the chance to meet the locals.

Jewels of the Arctic - GRN38G

Day 1 - Longyearbyen (Spitsbergen)

Arrive in Longyearbyen and enjoy a guided tour, during which you'll learn about the town's history, geology, flora and fauna. Highlights include the Svalbard Museum and Svalbard Church. Later, transfer to the port to embark your expedition ship. Cruise out of the stunning Isafjorden escorted by gliding fulmars. Please note: Sometimes the ship is unable to dock in Longyearbyen port due to space and capacity. In these instances, you will reach the ship by Zodiac. Please keep wet-weather clothing in your hand luggage just in case.

Days 2-4 - Svalbard Archipelago

With soaring mountains, incredible glaciers and abundant wildlife, Svalbard is the Arctic wilderness at its best. You may be able to enjoy two Zodiac landings each day and see walrus colonies on the sea ice and seabirds soaring in the skies above. You may even be lucky enough to see a polar bear, known as the 'King of the Arctic'.

Days 5-6 - Greenland Sea (Greenland)

You may encounter whales feeding in the waters as you cross the Greenland Sea. As you get closer to East Greenland, you may see seals on the pack ice. Onboard experts will educate you about the flora, fauna and early explorers. Conditions permitting, kayakers may be able to launch their sea kayaks. You may have the opportunity to enjoy your first landing on the Greenland coast.

Days 7-11 - East Greenland

You may be able to enjoy two Zodiac landings every day. Deep fjords and narrow channels are flanked by ice-clad peaks, and glaciers silently drift throughout the fjord system. The landscape is dotted with Thule archaeological sites, trappers' huts and Inuit hunters' cabins. A highlight is a visit to the Inuit village of Ittoqqortoormiit and the chance to meet the locals. Explore Scoresbysund, the largest fjord system in the world, and you may be lucky enough to enter Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord, a rarely-visited fjord system. Other places you may visit include Cape Humboldt, Rode Island, Eskimobugt and Skipperdalen.

Day 12 - Denmark Strait

Cruise the Denmark Strait, keeping an eye out for whales and seabirds.

Day 13 - Akureyri (Iceland)

Disembark your ship in Akureyri. Enjoy a scenic transfer to Reykjavik downtown or the airport.
