Day 2 - Reykjavik

Welcome to Reykjavik, the world's northernmost capital city, where a world of wonder awaits as you step on board and raise your glass to toast the start of your luxurious cruise.

Day 3-4 - East Coast Greenland

As you make your way towards Greenland you'll become among a privileged few to visit the world's largest island. Greenland's wilderness offers some of the most spectacular and unspoilt scenery on Earth.

Day 5 - At Sea

Sail through the Arctic waters of Greenland's coastline discovering the natural wonders that unfold before you.

Day 6-8 - East Coast Fjords of Greenland

Spend two days cruising and exploring Greenland's magnificent East Coast Fjords, the world's largest fjord system. Cruise among glorious icebergs and active volcanoes and feel the spray of thundering waterfalls. Enter Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord, a remote and rarely visited fjord system that lies within the North East Greenland National Park with countless opportunities for exploration. Cruising through Kong Oskar Fjord you will marvel at the geological beauty of the mountains. Head south along the coast of Liverpool Land, on a passage that is dependent on ice conditions, to reach Scoresby Sund, the world's biggest fjord. Massive glaciers dump into this fjord, the birthplace of the famous big Greenland icebergs. Visit the Inuit community of Ittoqqortoormiit (Scoresby Town), one of the remotest settlements on Earth, to learn about their lifestyle in this secluded and harsh environment.

Day 9-10 - North East Greenland

Approaching North East Greenland you may encounter a variety of seabirds such as northern Fulmar and migratory Brunnichs guillemots. This stretch of coastline is ripe for exploration, with its many secrets locked in place by drift ice for up to eight months each year. Home to polar bear, snowy owl and musk ox, it is the world's largest national park, most of which is inland ice, and the rest a fjord landscape. You'll enjoy Scenic Discovery excursions exploring by Zodiac, looking for musk ox, Arctic hare and eider ducks, or discover old trappers huts on hikes across the tundra. Conditions permitting, there will be a good chance for kayakers to paddle the waterways.

Day 11 - At Sea

Relax on board as you make your way to one of the world's northernmost inhabited areas.

Day 12-14 - Svalbard Archipelago

The Svalbard Archipelago's rugged glaciers and frozen tundras are a fragile and remote area of vast environmental significance, while Spitsbergen is the largest island. Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to design this section of your voyage from day to day. Making the most of the long hours of daylight, weather and ice conditions to give you the best experience possible in this extraordinary part of the world. You will enjoy daily Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac, kayak and on nature walks to get right up close to the majestic Arctic scenery, tundra landscapes, and wildlife and marine life that surrounds you. Your Scenic Eclipse voyage is in a prime time for wildlife spotting, and there will be opportunities to be on the lookout for the dominant predators of the region including the Polar bear. Marine species include the carefully protected walrus with its characteristic tusks and several species of whales. Once hunted almost out of existence in a region now transformed into a dedicated conservation area, your encounters with these giants of the sea will be a memory to treasure. There will be the chance to cruise the secluded bays, stunning fjords and sparkling glaciers of this unique and special destination.
