Days 6-9 - Eastern Svalbard Nature Reserve and South Spitsbergen National Park

Eastern Svalbard is home to the largest population of polar bears in the Svalbard archipelago so there will hopefully be the chance to see one. Discover Sorgfjorden, which was the location of a famous 17th-century battle between whalers, before cruising past the amazing bird cliff of Alkefjellet. Continue to Edgeoya, the third-largest in the archipelago and visit Kapp Lee which has a strong cultural heritage. Cruise to the southernmost tip of Spitsbergen to Hornsund, where ice pushed into the fjord early in the season attracts polar bears. The landscape of Rossoya is high Arctic, and is less than 620 miles from the North Pole. Nature lovers will enjoy Phippsoya which is home to a large ivory gull colony and many polar bears.

Days 10-11 - South West Spitsbergen National Park

Pass the majestic Klokkefjellet Mountain whilst sailing the southern entrance of Bellsund Fjord. Isfjord is the most extensive fjord system in the archipelago. There will be the opportunity to join an excursion to the Russian settlement of Pyramiden.
