Baffin Bay Secrets National Geographic Itinerary

Day 1 - Paris (France) - Kangerlussuaq (Greenland)

Fly from Paris to Kangerlussuaq and embark ship.

Day 2 - Sisimiut

Sisimiut is located just north of the Arctic Circle and is the second largest town in Greenland. Colourful stilt houses dot the landscape and there is a museum which traces the history of the Inuit people.

Day 3 - Disko Bay

Disko Bay is scattered with countless icebergs from the Ilulissat Icefjord. Watch out for the region's many humpback whales.

Day 4 - Eqi Glacier

This is a land of majestic icebergs, towering ice formations and calving glaciers. See the vast Eqi Glacier whose translucent crystals glow ice-blue in the sunlight.

Day 5 - Akulleq - Karrat Fjord

The landscape of the small desert island of Akulleq resembles the moon. From the summit of the island enjoy panoramic views over Uummannaq Bay and its huge icebergs. Sail along the Karrat Fjord surrounded by icebergs and towering cliffs.

Day 6 - Kullorsuaq

Far beyond the Arctic Circle is the village of Kullorsuaq where you can meet the friendly locals and learn about their way of life.

Day 7 - Savissivik

Enjoy a Zodiac outing to the biggest iceberg graveyard in Greenland where you can sail between these icy giants. Ashore you can hike to a viewpoint for amazing views over the icebergs.

Day 8 - Pond Inlet (Canada)

On Baffin Island, located at the mouth of the famous Northwest Passage, there is a small Inuit settlement surrounded by spectacular snow-capped mountains, fjords and glaciers.

Day 9 - Icy Arm Fjord

Today there is the opportunity to hike to the foot Icy Arm Fjord's towering cliffs. Back on board you may spot whales, orcas and narwhals.

Day 10 - Isabella Bay

Isabella Bay is one of the best places to watch bowhead whales, and is also home to narwhals, ringed seals, polar bears and little auks.

Day 11 - Sam Ford Fjord

The towering cliffs of Sam Ford Fjord reflect in the still waters creating a dazzling effect.

Day 12 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 13 - Evighedsfjorden (Greenland)

The scenery of Evighedsfjorden ranges from glaciers to colourful tundra and jagged cliffs. Look out for white-tailed eagles, seagulls and black-legged kittiwakes flying over the ship.

Day 14 - Kangerlussuaq - Paris

Disembark ship in Kangerlussuaq and transfer to the airport for the return flight to Paris.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
