White Christmas Adventure

Day 1 - Santiago de Chile

Start you winter adventure with an overnight hotel stay in Santiago de Chile, the vibrant capital city centre of Chile. Take the opportunity to explore this exciting city which boasts breathtaking Andean glaciers on the borders, fascinating colonial architecture and a diverse landscape with tall mountains, skyscrapers and beautiful parks.

Day 2 - Santiago de Chile - Punta Arenas

This morning, fly to Punta Arenas and enjoy a guided walking tour of this bustling city before embarking on Roald Amundsen.

Day 3 - Chilean Fjords

Spend the day cruising through the remarkable Beagle Channel, admire the spectacular views of this wild and remote area which appears to be almost completely untouched by humans. The unique fjord landscape of Chile features isolated islands and hidden bays which have been created as the ice has weaved its way between the mountains.

Day 4 - 5 - Cape Horn and Drake Passage

At the southernmost point of South America sits Cape Horn; one of the most iconic places on Earth. Before the Panama Canal, seafarers had to pass this wondrous rocky island in order to cross from one side of the Americas to the other. Landing on Cape Horn can be tricky due to high seas and challenging conditions, so, the Captain will decide on the safety of the excursion before landing. Next, you will cross the infamous Drake Passage which is part of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, the most voluminous current in the world.

Day 6 - 12 - Antarctica

Spend several days exploring the white continent, a truly unique destination that boasts indescribable beauty. 90% of the world's ice is located in Antarctica, creating a beautiful landscape of icebergs, glaciers and mountains. The Antarctic also boasts an abundance of fascinating wildlife including penguins, whales and seals. The continent is dedicated to peace, science and tourism meaning human activity is not allowed to alter the perfect natural balance. Due to the climatic challenges of this remarkable environment, the programme and schedule may change during your time here but when the conditions are ideal you will be able to spend hours ashore, on the water with kayaks, hike or simply cruise amongst huge pods of whales. The captain will attempt to land in several places, including Deception Island, Half Moon Island, Brown Bluff, Cuverville Island and Neko Harbour creating opportunities to get up close with penguin colonies, seals, glaciers and icebergs.

Day 13 - At Sea

Enjoy a day at sea whilst celebrating Christmas with your fellow guests! Savour delicious food in the restaurant and join in the fun and games at the bar as you embrace this unusual Christmas.

Day 14 - At Sea

Today, complete the loop of the Magellan Strait and enjoy a recap of everything you have experienced during this fantastic expedition.

Day 15 - Punta Arenas - Santiago de Chile

Arrive back in Punta Arenas this morning and disembark before flying back to Santiago de Chile as your expedition comes to an end.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
