Explore the Torres del Paine National Park including its glaciers, waterways and mountain peaks. In Argentina a 3-night hotel stay in El Calafate offers plenty of opportunity to discover the Los Glaciares National Park including the impressive Perito Moreno Glacier and a visit to an Argentine ranch. The experienced Captain and the Discovery Team Leaders will navigate the beautiful waterways of the Antarctic, with the route depending on the ice and weather conditions. South Georgia with Patagonian Adventure Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Santiago (Chile)

Fly from the UK overnight to Santiago. Regional airports available on request.

Day 2 - Santiago

Your journey into wonder begins in the Chilean capital of Santiago with an overnight hotel stay.

Days 3-6 - Santiago - Torres del Paine National Park

Fly to Patagonia and reach your luxurious retreat for a 4-night Special Stay in the heart of the park on the shores of Lake Pehoe. Settle into your tastefully appointed room, with sweeping views across the lake to the Paine Massif and enjoy a range of excursions each day, complimentary beverages and delicious meals featuring Patagonian specialities. Boasting glaciers, waterways, the peaks of the Paine Massif and a range of wildlife including the elusive puma, your days exploring will be a memory to treasure. There are several small group activities for you to choose from and enjoy at your own pace, all escorted by expert expedition guides.Each evening relax in the lounge with its magnificent views over the lake across to the mountains.(B,L,D)

Day 7 - Torres del Paine National Park - El Calafate (Argentina)

Cross into Argentina and transfer to El Calafate, the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park, for a 3-night hotel stay. (B,D)

Day 8 - El Calafate

Established in 1937 as a national park and extending over 4,459 square kilometres, the World Heritage-listed Los Glaciares National Park is sure to be a highlight. Cruise close to the impressive Perito Moreno Glacier, whose face rises an average of 74 metres above the surface of the water, then take a guided walk along the boardwalk for views across to the top of the impressive 250 square kilometre glacier. Toast your day in this natural wonderland framed by the spectacular backdrop of Perito Moreno Glacier. (B,L)

Day 9 - El Calafate

Discover the traditional way of life on an estancia (ranch) in the Argentine countryside, surrounded by glaciers, snow peaks and lakes of great natural beauty. (B,L)

Day 10 - El Calafate - Ushuaia

Fly to Ushuaia where you will be warmly greeted by the crew as you step on board Scenic Eclipse and settle into your elegant suite. (B,D)

Days 11-12 - At sea

Settle into shipboard life as you cruise towards the Antarctic Peninsula. (B,L,D)

Days 13-16 - Antarctic Peninsula

Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible based on the conditions. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will carefully plan each day's activities. Partake in daily Scenic Discovery excursions and cruise on the Zodiacs or kayaks around ice formations and step onshore to view penguin rookeries. (B,L,D)

Day 17 - Elephant Island

Elephant Island is where Shackleton's men wintered beneath their upturned boats. (B,L,D)

Day 18 - At sea

Cruise towards South Georgia. (B,L,D)

Days 19-22 - South Georgia

Once again, due to the nature of the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible based on the conditions. On your Scenic Discovery excursions, be in awe of the majesty of nature as you step onto beaches surrounded by thousands of king penguins and encounter enormous southern elephant seals and countless fur seals. In Grytviken, a former whaling station, you will have the opportunity to visit the resting place of Ernest Shackleton. (B,L,D)

Day 23 - At sea

Cross the Scotia Sea, escorted by whales, dolphins and seabirds. (B,L,D)

Days 24-25 - Falkland Islands

The Falkland Islands are a unique archipelago teeming with wildlife and nature intertwined with an intriguing history and culture. Saunders Island is where you can see the gentoo, Magellanic and rockhopper penguins on white sandy beaches. Enjoy Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac, kayak and nature walks. Discover the picturesque capital of the Falklands, Stanley, and get to know the friendly locals who are proud of their history and heritage which you will uncover at the museum. Take a walking tour of the small capital or on a Battlefields tour visit the key sites of the conflict. At Gypsy Cove, walk the wildlife trail and see the Magellanic penguin colony. (B,L,D)

Days 26-27 - At sea

Farewell your adventure in the icy lands and set sail heading north to the continent of South America. (B,L,D)

Day 28 - Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Your cruise ends this morning as you say your goodbyes to the crew. Disembark after breakfast and transfer to your hotel for your overnight stay. (B)

Day 29 - Buenos Aires - UK

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK. (B)

Day 30 - Arrive UK

Welcome home.
