Sail across the ocean towards Tristan da Cunha, a volcanic archipelago scattered off the South-African coast before arriving at Cape Town. Home to soaring Table Mountain, infamous Robben Island and the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, it is easy to see why the city is classed as one of the world’s most beautiful destinations.

From Antarctica to Africa Itinerary

Day 1 - Buenos Aires (Argentina) – Ushuaia

Fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. Transfer to the port or take the optional excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park. Embark Le Lyrial.

Day 2 - At sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 3 - New Island (Falkland Islands) – Grave Cove

Sail to New Island and Grave Cove in the Falkland Islands. These faraway lands have become the last sanctuary of the elegant black-browed albatross, which glides gracefully through the air against the blue sky, while Southern rockhopper penguins and elephant seals bask on the shore.

Day 4 - Steeple Jason Island - Saunders

Steeple Jason Island is one of the most dramatic islands in the archipelago and is home to the world’s largest black-browed albatross colony. Large numbers of striated caracara, Falkland skuas and southern giant petrels also breed here. Continue to Saunders Island, the original British settlement in 1765, and offers unique up-close opportunities to see diverse wildlife as well as wonderful hiking opportunities.

Days 5-6 - At sea

Days 7-9 - Gold Harbour (South Georgia) - Fortuna Bay - Salisbury Plain

South Georgia is home to an abundance of wildlife including king and Gentoo penguins, elephant seals and fur seals. You might be able to see the glaciers of Gold Harbour, vast plains of Fortuna Bay and Salisbury Plain, where you'll see more than 300,000 king penguins.

Days 10-13 - At sea

Enjoy relaxing days at sea.

Day 14 - Tristan da Cunha (British Overseas Territories)

This small British archipelago is made up of several islands scattered off the South-African coast, most of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Discover the archipelago’s volcanic main island, home to the world's most isolated village.

Day 15 - Nightingale Island

Discover uninhabited Nightingale Island’s thousands of seabirds. Breeding species include the Wandering, the Yellow-nosed and the Sooty Albatross.

Day 16 - Gough Island

Gough Island’s spectacular sea cliffs are home to numerous colonies of sea birds.

Days 17-20 - At sea

Enjoy relaxing days at sea.

Day 21 - Cape of Good Hope - Cape Town (South Africa)

Situated at the southern tip of the African continent, the Cape of Good Hope was dubbed the 'Cape of Storms' by explorer Bartolomeu Dias due to its position at the confluence of two opposing ocean currents. It is a haven for wildlife and you can enjoy breathtaking views onto Table Mountain National Park. Later, arrive in Cape Town. Home to soaring Table Mountain, golden beaches and bountiful vineyards, Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful destinations. Admire the stunning scenery of the Cape of Good Hope or perhaps visit the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Day 22 - Cape Town

Disembark Le Lyrial in Cape Town.

For navigational reasons the Captain of the ship reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary.
