Antarctic Explorer: Discovering the 7th Continent
Day 1 - Ushuaia (Argentina)
Transfer from the airport to the hotel to begin with an overnight stay in Ushuaia.
Day 2 - Ushuaia (Argentina)
Transfer to the port to embark your ship late afternoon before your ship sails down the Beagle Channel, ready to depart for your Antarctic expedition.
Day 3 - 4 - Cruising Drake Passage
Named after Sir Francis Drake, this stretch of water between South America and the Antarctic Peninsula has numerous myths and legends connected to it. Relax on board and perhaps attend presentations by your Expedition Team.
Day 5 - 8 - South Shetland Islands - Antarctic Peninsula
The South Shetland Islands are usually the first land seen in Antarctica. Chinstrap, Adelie, Gentoo and Macaroni Penguins all breed here and leopard seals, Weddell seals, crabeater seals, Southern elephant seals and Antarctic fur seals can be seen in the water and on the beaches. Heading to the Antarctic Peninsula, each day you will take Zodiac excursions from the ship to explore local bays, channels and landing sites. You will visit penguin rookeries and search for seals, humpback whales and minke whales. The majesty of the Antarctic Peninsula’s mountains will enchant as you scramble up snowy pathways for 360° views of your surroundings. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, there is the chance to participate in the Polar Plunge swim. Each day will be different, having been carefully crafted by your Expedition Team to entertain and educate you about this wonderful part of the world.
Day 9 - 10 - Cruising Drake Passage
Enjoy the ship's facilities whilst cruising back across the Drake Passage.
Day 11 - Ushuaia
Disembark ship in Ushuaia.
