Southeast Alaska Itinerary
Day 1 - Juneau (Alaska)
Embark ship in Juneau.
Day 2 - Skagway
Discover the thrill of the gold rush in the atmospheric frontier town of Skagway, gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park. Enjoy a ride on the White Pass and Yukon Railroad, a bus tour on the stunning Klondike Highway and time at leisure to explore historic Skagway.
Day 3 - Haines
Bald eagles are among the most populous of over 260 species of birds in Chilkat Valley. Join a historic walking tour of Haines to learn about the long history of the Chilkat Valley and the challenges of living in remote Alaska, or accompany expert local naturalists to the Chilkoot Valley for the chance to see brown bears, whales, seals and bald eagles.
Day 4 - Glacier Bay
Covering 3.3 million acres of dynamic topography, Glacier Bay is the world’s largest biosphere, comprised of massive glaciers, temperate rainforest, and snow-capped mountain peaks. Today a National Park Service Ranger joins the ship to provide expert narration whilst cruising through Glacier Bay. Stop at a magnificent tidewater glacier where there may be the chance to hear a calving glacier. A Huna Tlingit Cultural Interpreter will also come on board to share fascinating stories of the area's native people.
Day 5 - Cruising Inside Passage and Frederick Sound
Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day cruising the Inside Passage and Frederick Sound. Surrounded by majestic mountains, this is the perfect place to spot humpback whales, bears and Sitka black-tailed deer. Visit the coastal village of Kake, home to the fiercely proud Tlingit tribe, to learn about local history and see the world's largest totem pole.
Day 6 - Petersburg
Founded more than 100 years ago by Norwegian fishermen, Petersburg is a thriving fishing community that maintains its strong Norwegian heritage and continues to make its living from the sea. Enjoy a guided walk of the docks, accompanied by local fishermen and fishery biologists, or tour the Clausen Museum to learn about those who have lived and worked in Petersburg.
Day 7 - Tracy Arm - Sawyer Glacier
Sail through the magnificent Tracy Arm fjord to the Sawyer Glacier, accompanied by the on-board naturalist, and see hundreds of waterfalls cascading down the cliffsides.
Day 8 - Juneau
Disembark ship in Juneau.
